That is surely awful.....if she allowed a man or anyone to get away with that. With out taking action then she was indeed weak and should not have held such a high office. No person male or female should put up with that kind of behaviour. Let alone have to prove themselves in any environment. It is true I have not worked under many female directors, however certainly the ones I did work under would not have tolerated such behaviour. All occasions I might add were in a male dominated environment at least in the days I am talking about. (One I am thinking of would probably have picked the culprit up and slung him after the chair) I might add that the lady in question does read the Saints football forum although she rarely if ever has posted. Perhaps this might tempt her to post..........it's alright I've booked the flights I'm out of here.......
Context still seems to play a part I'm afraid. My jaw dropped yesterday when (during a R4 discussion on Police violence) it was reported an officer received a final warning after headbutting a child! I struggle to think of any workplace where you wouldn't get instant dismissal, but not if you're responsible for upholding the law apparently. The Chairman has made a mistake and has at least taken some responsibility for that. Do I believe no other SFC board member was aware of AJ's admission of kissing? No. But she may well have taken one for the team, right or wrong. Another AJ victim in my view.
Headbutting a child...there's a few that would benefit from that. The child was probably a 6' 15-yr-old behaving appallingly....shouldn't have happened, but I suspect the provocation was massive and the contact minimal for him to get away with it. I'm betting the kid was a trouble making whinger. Why do I think that....because the police rarely get back up even when we expect them to be there when trouble breaks out or some poor sod needs scraping off a road. If the officer got away with it, you can bet the mitigating circumstances were massive.
But where are those people who have been calling on AJ to be made an example of suggesting this officer should also go the same way. Damn inconsistencies...
What is the punishment befitting the crime? The judge said (I believe) 5-10 years. That seems right to me.
Ah... Now I get it! I hadn't seen that. I thought I was loosing my marbles which would have been remarkable, because I clearly remember losing them some time ago.
Fats I'm not saying I know the answer, I'm sure you get my point that he should get what he deserves, not that he should be made an example of. I'm no laywer or judge, but i still think 10 years too harsh, and that cases of a similar nature should preside, I imagine that to be c. 5 years. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer btw, just an opinion. Out of interest in your view what would a similar punishment be? Also, and i genuinely can't recall what dis Stuart Hall get?
Got you now Billy. I thought you were saying the proposed levels were wrong (well you said 10 is too high). I am sure it will be 5 and out in 2-3. I wish they'd start again and review sentencing for these crimes as they are appalling. Can't remember what Hall got.
A miserly 30 months.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...nduly-lenient-sentence-DOUBLED-30-months.html
Makes me proud to be a Saint - none of this interfering with minors for us ! - we only engage in proper crime - man-to-man punch-ups in/outside nightclubs, and bit of robbing from handbags, thank you.
http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/143...e_after_underage__girlfriend__killed_herself/ This scumbag only got 4 years!
I was chatting to a police friend about a certain nightclub fight incident. His friend had worked the case and felt he never had such a clear, open and shut prosecution with video, witness, etc. He thought anyone who wasn't a footballer would have gone to prison... But at least he was ours, eh?
The Hatton Garden gang have got 7 years in jail for a burglary, where nobody was physically hurt or touched. A big burglary admittedly. It'll be interesting to see what the sentence is in this case for grooming and having sexual activity with a just turned 15 year old girl, compared to those set today.
