No more than any other nation who believe they can get anyway with things. If the UK wasn't signed up to the ECHR and closely tied to Europe, do you honestly believe they would care about what people thought? No way.

no, we'd go around publically assassinating foreign nationals (who by some strange coincidence are also muslim) whilst using stolen passports from ireland. oh hang on.

    No it isnt.

And until I fly a plane into a biulding or blow up a bus or the tube I am a million times better than a terrorist, and as I have no such intentions thats unlikely to change anytime soon.

The British government would do whatever it took to protect its own interests as that is the fundamental role of the state. Again the UK like any other nation if it could get away with things, it would do whatever it wanted.

I don't think many people on here really like the IRA on here either. It's just that our problems with them were at their worst decades ago, whereas the threat of Muslim extremist terrorism is an ongoing thing

Nohman, I am not doing anything as that is not me. Did you get that from your facebook and post it online, it is something I would imagine you would do. You know, to warn people about how stupid you are.

Hmmmm you are being insensitive to someone who obviously has strong feelings about this Stretty so its understandable that he is angry. I don't understand how you can treat the middle east and the people from there with such contempt. Just seems pretty backwards and arrogant to me.

Or we'd go around whanging missiles into Afghan villages in the hope of taking out a single terrorist amid the hundreds of innocents. Or giving million dollar Apache gunships to nobs who kill journalists cos they can't tell the difference between a camera and a gun.

Israel's actions are arguably no worse than the UK's actions when dealing with Nazi Germany, such as the firebombing of civilian cities and the torture of captured prisoners. And given that that Hamas and Hezbollah want to 'obliterate' Israel, it's not hard to see why they'd take those actions.

I'm not condoning them, but it's easy for us to sit here and debate the morality of their actions, but when nations are surrounded by enemies they are not always 100% concerned with morality.

No whats backwards is not giving women or gays equal rights aswell as a load of other cobblers that goes on in such countrys. Maybe it is arrogant, but maybe then again i do believe we have a better country and the fact you couldnt pay me to go to such countries.

Blair should never have taken brought us into this ****storm in the first place. Let the Americans and the Arabs fight it out, none of our business.

The higher the intelligence of a person, the less they feel a need for religion!! Understanding helps you realise that "god" in any form, is no more real than santa claus!

Do not quote buddhism "when Buddhist Law is threatened, it is necessary to ruthlessly fight the forces of evil. Kill them all, and the Buddha will recognize his own. Murder in this case is piously qualified as "liberation," since the demon, duly killed out of compassion, will be released from its ignorance and can then be reborn under better auspices."

All religion is at a real level, when threatened, fundamentally the same...... nonsense

You have monks taking up arms and marching in the Russo-Japanese War, or earlier messianic battles in China when they thought killing people would bring them closer to enlightenment (a Ten Stage Process). Buddhists have fought against non-Buddhists, or other Buddhists. Japanese Buddhists fought to cleanse the impure Buddhist lands in China and Korea. Thai and Burmese fought for centuries against each other, each claiming religious authority as Cakravartins.

I think the media in the west aims to creaet muslims as murderers, when in reality every religion has murder directly at the heart of its beliefs, after all, religion is power and with power comes the need to supress
