Darren Bent, Asamoah Gyan & Danny Welbeck.
I was just thinking after commenting on Poolie's thread about Bruce's best 11, its frightening and quite frankly depressing to think that this once was our actaul strike-force and now after a number of unforseen circumstances we are now left with Nikolas Bendtner.
Full of pace/skill/goals & creativity this must have put the fear of god into some defences in the Premier League and caused managers to re-think their formations etc to deal with the threat.
Unfortunately we currently possess no such threat and are so weak up top it is scary. I dont think any manager will look at us this season and think they have to remodel their team formations to play us. Obviously they will give the standard crack of "Sunderland are a good team" bla bla bla but it is such a shame really as we could have been a formiddable opponent had things not conspired against us.
I'm not playing the blame game or anything as to why this strike-force is no more, just merely thinking to myself, If only!
