Well technically that would require everyone to be playing at the same time so it’s actually not possible for that to be the case as at one point some teams would have played 10 and others only 9, so if going by average of the season you’d have to work out when the middle point of next game week is across all games. #pedantic
Yeah but different kick off times so just pick 9 and change the title to 24% of the season premier league table
I agree the scope of their ambition has to be last 16 of CL, 4th and run in FA cup. They might get a good draw in CL, they might not. Who knows.
There you go. source for those who are interested is 11v11.com. excellent site for historical info on games I've used quite a few times. You can compare LFC in 2017/18 to Utd this year (almost) Its interesting to note the comparison to final positions, Palace and bournemouth surviving for example while swansea and west brom were relegated after having reasonable starts. Top 3 were actually the same positions but spurs did have a slump mid-season and recovered to third. It will be interesting to note which clubs form the bottom 5 who look so bad right now can turn things round and pick up form. Already fulham look to be the ones who will sack their manager. Newcastle look basket cases right now, cardiff and huddersfield very poor too.
Interesting that despite our forward line receiving many plaudits we’d only scored 13 goals in 8 games compared to 15 in 8 before yesterday so we’ve actually done better going forward so far, huge improvement defensively as well as picking up more points. Performances may not be perfect but on the whole a vast improvement so far.
We were poor at home. lots of draws. I will dig out the 9 game results when I get back to pc. Utd 0-0 should be one. city 0-5 another.
Just another perspective on Virgil Wan Dijk. These are the league goals conceded by teams since Van Dijk made his LFC premier league Debut Liverpool 16 Manchester City 17 Tottenham 22 Manchester United 28 Chelsea 29
Here are our first 9 games in 2017-18 02-Aug-17 Watford A 3-3 19-Aug-17 C.Palace H 1-0 27-Aug-17 arsenal H 4-0 09-Sep-17 man city A 0-5 16-Sep-17 burnley H 1-1 23-Sep-17 Leicester A 3-2 01-Oct-17 newcastle A 1-1 14-Oct-17 man utd H 0-0 22-Oct-17 Tottenham A 1-4 Here are first 9 games of 2018-19 1 12-Aug-18 West Ham H 4-0 2 20-Aug-18 Crystal Palace A 2-0 3 25-Aug-18 Brighton H 1-0 4 01-Sep-18 Leicester City A 2-1 5 15-Sep-18 Tottenham Hotspur A 2-1 6 22-Sep-18 Southampton H 3-0 7 29-Sep-18 Chelsea A 0-0 8 07-Oct-18 Manchester City H 1-1 9 20-Oct-18 Huddersfield Town 1-0 Differences? 1. clean sheets The newcastle game last year is a case in point, we should never have drawn that game but conceded a really poor goal. Burnley game also, though we equalised in that one. same for watford.... If we had those extra 6 points last year... well we would still have been well off pace. 2. City game we were 0-1 down and mane got sent off. V spurs it was panic stations and it should never have been 4. 1-2 loss ok but not 4. 3. utd played negatively for 0-0 and got it. 4. Even palace is not comparable as we beat an awful palace side under de Boer last season and beat a mediocre palace side under hodgson this year. 5. last year we played 4 top 4 rivals in 9 games. This season we only played 3. If anything what this says is the defence has improved but really if we'd tonked brighton and huddersfield and had another 6 goals or something everyone would be much happier i guess?
Since we are picking apart MITOs posts like the petty pedants we are, I would like to point out you got the 1-1 with Chelsea and the 0-0 with City mixed up. C- Must try harder
Its scary how he's made such a difference If salah can start firing and we get one guy in midfield really linking things i think we will be a proper unit.
THAT's what justifying your price tag looks like. Remember the old days when #bbcsalford would claim Pogba was justifying his fee every time he got an assist or goal against some #nomarks ? That dried up quickly.
I don't hate Lovren* as much as some on here- but neither he, nor Matip or Gomez, have the necessary leadership qualities to organise themselves and those around them. Virgil has this, and it shows. *Lovren does most things right most of the time, he just has that calamitous accident waiting to happen air about him.
