The main thing will be on guaranteed game time and why Liverpool pulled him. So if FARKE wants him he will need to be a starter more often than not
18yo Ronnie McGrath has been transferred to South Carolina on a permanent deal. The young winger only signed his first pro contract last summer after being with the club for a while and playing for the U17s and a regular for the U18s, but is frustrated at not playing one game since FARKE arrived? Darko Gyabi in talks with Plymouth to go on loan. Kris Moore has joined Hibs on loan and will be missed in our U21 side. There has to be some movement in the 21s as there are a few who are just too good at that level and deserve to play football, but not breaking through
Too good for the 21s doesn't necessarily mean good enough for top end Championship though. If I were Farke and my job depended on it, I would pick my best players as often as possible. I'm in agreeance with Jammy, having watched both live, Rodon is simply a better player than Cresswell is right now. I see Nohan Kenneh, our other "future England Captain" is plying his trade with Shrewsbury and has opted for Liberia (I think) as his international allegiance! If one player from the 21s makes it through to the first team each year we will be doing pretty well. In the current team, Archie, Struijk and Sommerville have all come through (albeit the last two were purchased for the 21s).
Whilst Marcos and Oldschool take the piss had to laugh at this item but suppose anything is possible “ Leeds have the option to bring back one of its own to sort out its defensive liabilities. Cody Drameh has excelled in this league for 3 seasons. Player of the year at Cardiff then helping lowly Luton win promotion and outstanding in a poor Birmingham side this season. At this level, Drameh has proven year after year that he is a quality option in defence. Naturally a right-back but also able to play on the left. Leeds could have the option to recall the England U20 defender. It is unclear what the plan is with Drameh and he might well have played his last game for Leeds. But if the Whites need a Championship-quality right-back, they have one – in the form of on-loan Drameh.”
Drameh was playing in a back five at Birmingham until Rooney took over and made the change to a back four. No idea how Drameh performed in either formation but we do know that Rooney has since been sacked due to the extremely poor results.
My mates a Blues ST holder and when I asked how Drahma was playing, he replied, he's OK yeah, nothing exciting.
If McGrath's not played for the U19's, is that Farke's doing? He's gone to South Carolina, so not in great demand here then.
In fairness Gessa only seen the kid twice and it wasn’t like watching Summerville when he arrived or McGurk, so not really fussed either way. My point is that FARKE is having a clear out in the academy and I have no problem with that but when you have a clear out you need to replace and so far no upgrades have been brought in and especially in the first team where we have a clear out of the defence either through injury, non selection or moving them out. Where’s the plan? Sick of listening to platitudes from the great man, almost like listening to Marsch at times without the management speak. 2 weeks into the window already and apparently we don’t need anyone
We don't know if these decisions are all Farke's though, except the Spence one. No one as really signed anyone of note yet in the Championship this window imo. You seemed to be on a downer with Farke from day one mate and I don't think you're being as even minded as pre this season.
We both want the same thing Gessa mate and after a slow start not of Farkes making he seemed to be doing the job really well. But his tactics and team selection recently cost us a lot of points. He’s stubborn and only has plan A at the moment, but hopefully he learnt a lesson with Rutter at 10 and Piroe or Bamford at 9. But I have no idea what he’s trying to do at the back, but he could have something up his sleeve and being manager he can do what he wants, but promotion is the target and not getting it will be failure for me. So I am hoping he gets it sorted
Agreed mate and with the players you plan to keep, all the new signings we should make and our world beating 21s I think our first team with 60+ players would do rather well
Tbh, with what went on last season and how things were preseason, I thought we'd hover around 8th place most of the season, with a chance of a late surge for the play offs the last few weeks, what he's achieved is way above my expectations. Not perfect but better than my expectations is my half term report. I'd have to give him the summer to get his players in and see where we are this time next season before calling for his head.
Not really taking the piss Doc but I think the money men would resist some of your enthusiasm for change. DFP would look quite different to FFP
Where are “must try harder”, “loses concentration too easily”, “weed is not welcome in our school” and “ would help himself if he stopped picking fights with the older boys”? Not like any report I have ever read
Gyabi to Plymouth on loan, just a rumour but I’ll be honest, I forgot we had him and before the season started I felt this division and Farke could be the making of him
Gyabi, Bate, Hjelde, Cresswell, McGurk are never going to play for FARKE, Shackelton, Gelhardt bit part players. Think we should already be looking to move some on because whatever happens in the summer we have to deal with all the rats plus sort out the first team
I believe Farke will get us promoted, that’s my only concern at the moment if I’m honest. If someone pushed me for a further ahead thought, I don’t believe Farke is the man for the PL however, earn promotion and you’ve earned a chance. If Farke is here for a PL campaign he won’t take any back and rightly so. If he’s not around, we might find a couple given a chance
