I noticed a few more entries that haven't yet run. These could have been amongst the unnamed entries that I didn't pick up; I don't know I'll add those to the list and change it to unraced as 2yo
One at Doncaster tomorrow ASTRODOME b c Sea The Stars - So Mi Dar (Dubawi) runs in the 16.45 Apprentices takes the ride for Gosdens, who also run the Frankel colt Carlton with James Doyle up
And one at Kempton BURGLAR ch c Cracksman - Hidden Hope (Daylami) runs in the 13.30 Kempton for Gosdens Impressive winner first time out this year in a decent time; Buick rides. Interestingly, Gosdens have another newcomer in this race too; Kingman colt Incremental
The soft/heavy sire stats are interesting but it occurred to me that 1. If the ground is soft/heavy, something has to win but it could be a poor winner 2. Hopefully, trainers will only run their horses on soft/heavy if they will be suited by it. Only one of them can win so that could screw the stats What would be more interesting is to know those that produced significantly better/worse form on various grounds, regardless of placing Generally speaking, the suitability for soft/fast ground will be determined by their conformation and the dam will have some influence on that, as will ancestry to some extent
Hopefully, at least one of these will shake up the Derby market Getting more ridiculous by the day with a 2/1 fav and 20s bar
AOB has 5 entries that were unraced at 2 and also has 25 entries that did race at 2. This table shows all trainers with entries unraced at 2, along with their other entries
Interestingly, and not surprising, AOB and Gosdens have the most entries that were unraced at 2 and also have several other runners that were raced at 2, at shorter odds than those unraced at 2. It interests me because they know what they have and I wonder if either trainer (or any of the others) believe they haven't yet shown their best one. They need to get them out before too long as it's not a good idea for a young horse to make its debut at Epsom
