Serious family dilemma in Paris. My lad, seven years old, has been belting out 'allez les bleus' all week. His mother is English, his father is English, his passport is British, but he claims that because he was born in Paris, and has always lived here, he wants France, or 'La France' as he disgustingly calls it, to win. I know there is some heavy playground pressure at play here, all his mates are French and he doesn't want to stick out as the only England fan, but I'm still a little bit heartbroken. Also, in a rather twisted way, desperate that I can sit him down at breakfast tomorrow and break some bad news to him gently, that 'La France' have been eliminated by 'Les Anglais'.
My only real memory of Italia 90 was telling my dad I wanted Cameroon to win. No idea why, probably liked their kit more. He wasn't that impressed either.

If he doesn't grow out of it in a few years, put him up for adoption.

Serious English lessons will be starting. Not language...but history, heavily focused on completely neutral historical events, like The Battle of Agincourt.

HAHAHA...trouble is, he also tells all his friends that the best team in England is QPR...and recently asked me 'is Mbappe as good as Charlie Austin was Daddy?' There is still hope.
Ask his grandpa to have a word with him.

Pressure building on the Moroccans.

Apart from the damn whistling of their fans I am very happy with the outcome. Morocco also had ample opportunities to add a second goal and put game out of reach.
