So sorry to here this Ron. It's never nice when you feel a bit helpless to do anything yourself I know. I hope everything goes well and will keep all things crossed it does. Keep the old chin up.
Very well done Karlos and thank you Ron for running this great competition. Congratulations to all having a winner at the meeting. Ron I really hope your grandson gets well and has a speedy recovery. Best wishes from germany.
Congrats Karlos, well played. And many thanks Ron for running this despite your family problems. Hope the little chap is doing ok
I haven't been posting any updates because it has been a very worrying time. But I am pleased to say he came home today and is a very happy little lad. It's not all been doom and gloom. The hospital had sports coaches and he was given football, basketball and archery coaching. They also had teachers so he kept his schooling going and he had a school evaluation the other day. He has a tube sewn into his arm which feeds directly into the main artery in his heart, to enable feeding treatments and drainage for analysis. Nurses come in daily. Amanda just picked up his first month's medication. OMG I have never seen so much, €2000 worth apparently; just for one month. The Pet scan (Positron emission tomography) and DNA analysis they are doing now should pinpoint the root source of the mutated gene that has caused the problem (immune system and organs shutting down). The hospital have done a great job. Nurses bought him a Leggo set and awarded him a bravery diploma. We have to be extremely careful, house sterilised and no shoes allowed in the house, earth based plants all had to be removed But he's home, at least for now, and he is one happy bunny
