I know people's reactions initially will be that you are bonkers but I suspect it is a shrewder ew than it looks because this horse could improve 10lb for better ground- hates it soft.
I think hes under the radar Toppy, giving weight first time out on soft when apparently needing the run, reversed the soft ground form with Old Guard when running a blinder in the Christmas Hurdle. The winner that day produced the best 2 mile performance of the season and everything else in this race would have been beaten a distance there aswell so I dont think hes too far away, hes also quite a slick hurdler and as you say, if the ground is proper good there is more improvement there. I think the best is yet to come from him and i dont like much else in the race, got The New One covered at 20s and I wont be putting anything else on it. Only really came to me last night, and then I seen today hes blue all over oddchecker, had to go to sportingbet for the only remaining 25s, should have took it with a proper book last night but didnt expect any movement so soon.
With it being so open Boris, you could be on to something there. Not too sure what I will be backing in that to be honest, ground will certainly be a factor this year.
Extract from Timeform "Different Gravey proved just that as he strolled home 16 lengths clear of his rivals in the twenty-furlong handicap hurdle. Different Gravey has met with defeat only once in five starts but not until now has he looked a potential top-notcher, making light of a 10-month absence and lofty BHA mark (149) as he raised his Timeform rating to 163p (from 152p). His only Cheltenham entry is in the JLT, and he's a smashing prospect for chasing down the line, but before then connections would be well within their rights to consider supplementing him for the Champion Hurdle as an alternative Festival target, especially given the absence of Faugheen has blown that race open. With the news of Artic Fire now out Annie power now 7/4 Fav ,9-2NicholsCanyon,IdentityThief,15-2MyTentOrYours,TheNewOne,20bat
Could end up an egg and spoon race - do we have a truly consistent Grade 1 performer left in the field? I'm on MTOY for small stakes e/w at 25s but The New One is starting to look viable here.
I'm glad I only had a small bet on Identity Thief in November- If I had lumped on I suspect the Police would be knocking on my door
That might be the one Dan, but got to wait until the day now, ante post market well and truly dried up
This is now a horrible, horrible market. Let's look at the facts, in the context of a Champion Hurdle: Annie Power - long-term absentee, came back to win an egg and spoon race last week. Form over 2 miles debatable and of course THAT FALL at the festival last year - best price 2/1 you say? NO THANKS. Identity Thief - won a weak looking Fighting Fifth from Top Notch before being out-pointed by Nicholls Canyon over Christmas. Can he reverse the form? Nicholls Canyon - arguably the form horse but will he act around Cheltenham? The New One - solid and consistent, albeit short of true superstar class - might this be his year? MTOY - undoubtably classy but a shocking prep - would be an almighty training performance Hargam - feck knows, ground dependent but I would be very disappointed if last season's Triumph 3rd wins the Champion Hurdle The rest - **** knows. Very very confused market and certainly not a vintage renewal
Brings Meadowcroft Boy back into the equation certainly. It's The New Ones to lose. That form with Rayvin Black is looking bomb proof now after Saturday... Hopefully Annie lines up, the race needs her now.
Despite being THE NEW ONE's number one fan.......I really never thought he would scare them all off like this
Has Willie Mullins finally learnt something from Mr Henderson - how to get all your horses injured? <runfromSirBarney>
