Thanks Ron someone with a bit of sense at last, and that was over two miles. I admit this horse is a bit ground dependent but that imperial cup run was gd/sft gd in places. Typical festival ground
I don't have a problem. You can think what you want. Just couldn't tell if it was tongue in cheek or not.
For me when it comes to the festival, it's all about course form. Faugheen is the real deal but won't be there so forget about him. As far as the Irish grade 1 races are concerned they are mostly egg and spoon races with two or three runners so I don't take much notice. Like I said course form is what it's all about when it comes to Cheltenham.
Part of me would love to see the New One win as I don't think he gets the credit he deserves. I don't think Annie Power is good enough....cant stand the horses owner (fat cat banker- remember the collapse of the banks? mmmmm anyway). My money will be on My Tent or Yours...Geraghty might just be the man to get to grips with the Tent...I think he has enough class to take it....not been seen this season I know...I just cant get out of my mind the Tent finishing 2nd to Jezki 2 years ago whilst pulling McCoys arm out all the way round...Immense My Tent or Yours each way
Bit of a silly comment really isn't it. So if Faugheen, Annie Power and Arctic Fire were in a Group 1 3 horse race In Ireland you wouldn't take notice of it A field can have 16 runners in it, it doesn't necessarily make it a strong field if there is no outstanding individual in there to begin with. Quality over quantity.
No, I disagree I want to see a big field.jumping is the name of the game get in a position and avoiding mishaps re:the new one. A three horse race does no one any favours which are tactical affairs and more often you don't get a true run race especially if two of the three runners are trained or owned by the same people. And where is the spectacle and value for ew punters.
I threw a bit of money at MTOY after I had a bit of a win a while back, got 18/1 e/w on him so I'm happy with that as it stands...
Been having a good look at this race,Annie Power is a really skinny price off the bare form, perhaps the 7lb allowance will be the difference coming up the hill?
