Feel for Rickie but it was his decision to go, just think how many games he would have played for Saints if he stayed. Not a nice way to end his career, but he made his bed.............

If he had stayed at Saints for last season (and we had still made all the signings we did) - how many games do you think he'd have played?

I think not many - other than to give Pelle a rest

I bet you he doesn't have one single regret. And remember Cortese was trying to ship him out during the window before too, so he was probably annoyed about all that anyway. Just think it's shameful of Liverpool to try to get more for him than we sold him to them for when he's older, no longer an international, and a much less sharp player, all thanks to them (yes, he would have been younger had he stayed with us).

Life is all about perceptions.

From beetroot factory to the premier league, lighting up League 1 and the Championship on the way, then scoring on his England debut. I'd say it was blooming marvelous what happened to Rickie.
I agree, imagine if he'd started out at 18 playing in the Prem and ended up at 32 working in a beetroot factory! I bet I know which way round he'd prefer his career to have gone.

And playing in Champions League for his childhood club. Am sure he has not one regret, and would make the same post-Saints decisions again.

I bet he has certain splinters picked from his arse in certain games that he has kept in a little box for the benefit of his grandchildren - Liverpool derby; Real Madrid in the CL...

I think he'll do quite well at Norwich. It sort of feels right.

Oh, I just read its West Brom.......not so good.

Just a few extra points and I could have said, with great satisfaction, that it was a shame he never played in a top six side.
