Good stats for those two seasons. I just have never warmed to him.

Didn't Moyes give him a massive wage on a 5 year contract?

Yeah, he's under contract with United until 2018. Van Gaal apparently doesn't want him as he offloaded him on loan to Sporting and is by many reports trying to bring in Memphis Depay, who plays the same position as Nani. So I believe United are willing to listen to offers. The player might not be as happy to reduce his salary. We could always attempt to loan him for a season.

Hereś my prediction for the summer!! Harry Kane goes to Manchester United for around 70m with Hernandez and one other (Smalling) going the other way!! Charlie Austin joins Tottenham as well!! Who would I like!! Muniain and Williams from Athletic Bilbao!! Chances of getting them? Zero!!!

Really? I wouldn't be excited by him at all. I find him an egotistical monster with little final product. Admittedly I haven't seen much of him since he has gone out on loan from United, but I can't help but think "Big time Trick Pony". Give me Mane any day over him.

I agree. There aren't very many players in world football that fit our profile less than Nani.
None of these players would have any hunger whatsoever if they landed at Southampton. Nothing to prove at Saints. They would just be depressed at their fall from grace. Would possibly perform every now and then in a big CL game to justify their salary and fire a 'told you so' shot across the bows to whichever to four manager booted them out.

Manchester Evening News saying that Southampton see JRod as part of Koeman's plans, but they seem to think he is a cheaper option as Liverpool and Everton want enormous money for Sterling and Barclay. Perhaps we should slap 40-50 million on JRod....not worth it, but neither is Barclay. Time they stopped treating us like the poor country cousins.

Or Jay has said he won't sign a new contract, so City feel a deal can be done?

Barkley :p

Not having a good spelling day are you....<whistle>

If we make Europe, and decide to go for it -- and consequently, build a team with the necessary depth to take on all of the competitions -- what would we need? Presuming Toby, Djuricic and Elia are off in addition to Jay/Clyne/Morgan, it looks something like:

- Starting-quality keeper.
- Starting right back.
- Another RB, perhaps one who can play as a mid/CB.
- One good-to-very-good CB, perhaps a second.
- A high-quality central mid (I like Vilhena's potential, but he's not that yet).
- At least one, probably two wide players.
- A playmaking attacking mid of some variety. Bonus points if they are willing to shoot from beyond 12 yards.
- A seriously good striker.

That's 8-11 additions, and given the demands of the schedule, would still leave us with minutes to fill for the kids. Busy summer coming.
