Noooooo! It only ever happens to us!

Can't deny it happens to us more than anyone else, though. We experience two or three or those situations per window. Everton probably experience one every few years. I mean, Baines is basically a rare one-club player.

I think Saints, Everton and WBA should stand firm. It's too bloody late!!!

I'm very confident Saints will stand firm, after all Koeman has made it pretty clear.

Stones and Berahino will be sold. WBA already have their replacement in Rondon, but Everton appear to have been caught out a little bit. I think they expected to be able to keep him this summer without the fuss of a public transfer request etc

Ramiro Funes Mori (a centre-back) was watching Everton the other day, and they'll pick up Jonny Evans too. Defence sorted for about £16m+-.

Then they can look for some other reinforcements if needed, and bank the rest.

Just further proof that it isn't just a problem Saints have because of their own approach. It happens to everyone and it will continue.

Why lie? You know it only happens to us!

Well that is a stat that makes it seem bad!

Apparently 36.39% of all stats are made up...

Re Baines, I've never felt he was that good to move up the table to a higher club, the Moyes link was natural but telling they never got him - wondered how hard they tried...
Yep, agree on the Baines point.

Also, with Barkley, I think the big clubs are still waiting for that 'woah' season from him, like Sterling had when Suárez was at LFC. Maybe then they'll part with some serious money for him. As it was, there were presumably enquiries and Everton chucked a big pay deal under his nose and he signed it.

Baines used to play for Wigan, close but slightly more than a 1 club man
I know, that's why I put the little 'basically' disclaimer - because in this day and age, for the value of player he is and the bids coming in for him, and his profile as Mr. Everton, he is in essence/ in spirit and soul a one-club man. Over ten years at any club these days and you're basically as loyal as you can get.

See my post above - I don't think anyone would mind if we lost a player every three or four seasons in this manner. What most people are upset about is that it's two or three key players per window. Most to the same clubs too. I like ex-Saints to be dispersed, personally.

That's because our players are more desirable, I suppose!

Lewis Grabban went AWOL from Norwich’s team hotel after Canaries manager Alex Neil told him he was a substitute for their Capital One Cup tie with Rotherham.

The forward, who is desperate to return to Bournemouth before the transfer window closes, fled the hotel without telling team-mates or the manager that he was leaving.

If this is true it sums up modern day footballers.
