Well done Beeforsalmon, Day was on fire for the 4 day's, was striping his irons and was in total control of his game for the most part. Now he's broken his duck, he surely will take a few more majors throughout his career. Spieth moves to World number 1 with his 2nd place finish also which was only a matter of time the form he has been in. With McIlroy back, Day on fire and Spieth being Spieth the remainder of this year will be good to watch these battling it out to take or maintain the number 1 spot.
Koepka placed for me so not too bad, he T5 which will mean a reduction on my bet but not too bad all the same, played some very good golf and was very streaky. Definitely has big championship wins in him. Kuuuuuch missed out on a placing by 1 shot which was frustrating, his last two holes on Friday halted his good progress but he did well over the weekend again to finish in a tie for 7th.
Cheers Savethehumans Day was sublime the entire tournament and was nice to see him shed the nearly man tag. Was impressed how he handled the Spieth pairing. If anything the pressure was being exerted on Spieth the whole way through the round whilst Day looked in cruise control. A 33/1 double with Mr Day to win the Masters and the Machine to win the Champion was hastily placed from the winnings
I had a quick think about the opposition to Faugheen the other day. I say it was a quick thought because there was no opposition. Branden Grace impressed me Beef, in fact there's a couple of South Africans who could add their name to the major winners- Schwartzel, Grace and Coetzee.
Injury free is all I ask! I'll take my chances on the day with whatever lines up I think Yeah Grace is really good, loves links. I thought he was going to give me a super payday in the U.S. open at 125/1 but sadly one bad drive killed that. I'd a been gutted from a selfish point of view if he won this week, as I gave him to a lad looking a big priced dart at 80/1 and of course forgot to do him myself... Seems pretty unflappable, just one poor swing cost him the U.S. People forget how Spieth very nearly threw that one away himself with his treble on the 17th, but for anyone else but DJ on the 18th he wouldn't have won.
That boy Johnson is an enigma. Fired -3 69 in the final round despite an 8 at the first He needs a pint of that Jason Day calm juice if he's to win a major.
That's about as in control as I've ever seen Day, the pairing either works for you or against you and he made it work. Good mental strength shown there to do what he did. Thoroughly agree with Grace too, terrific player over the year's and is starting to produce his best in the big one's now too which is a good sign. Really looking forward to the remaining events this year now, it's going to be fierce battling in the race to the fed ex cup...god those Americans do love a playoff
Well you certainly wouldn't rule it out were he to turn up fit would you. Good luck in your bid for the hat rick.
I certainly wouldn't be unhappy to see you coin in there and I'll likely be backing him as a saver after the first leg snaffs in
