"He seems to do a DOF role for the youths. I am at the training ground at least 4 days a week and he is rarely out on the training pitches." By which you mean he is doing the Baldini work and persuading early teens who are at other clubs, to come and join the Academy ?? Or is he designing the training regimes and Ramsey et al are doing his bidding ??
And he's doing such a great job, loaning players to teams that don't play them. Mason at Lorient, Smith at Derby, Gomelt at Antwerp - how can players develop when the best they can hope for is reserve football?
What odds can I get on Mark Cooper to be the next manager to get the sack and Tim Sherwood to be installed in his place? Why am I asking? No reason....
I'd get down to the bookies quick if I were you..... "There has been a lot of talk about our connection with Tottenham Hotspur. There is no connection. I don't think it is any secret that Tim Sherwood is a good friend of mine and I genuinely think he is one of the most knowledgeable and forward thinking men currently in the game". The words of Lee Power this afternoon.
"I don't think it is any secret that Tim Sherwood is a good friend of mine and I genuinely think he is one of the most knowledgeable and forward thinking men currently in the game" I'd get down to the nut house quick if I were him ...
The Mason - Lorient loan is one of the most bizarre loan moves we've ever sanctioned in my opinion. I'd have expected Smith to have played a lot more at Derby to be fair, especially as Derby sold Brayford, surprised things didn't work out for him at the one.
England v Brazil tonight at under 16 level in the Nike tournament in the US. We have 2 players in the squad, a midfielder, Marcus Edwards and a talented keeper Alfie Whiteman. Remember his name, he's going to be good !!
Anyone know how Tom Carroll's doing at QPR ? He got injured in an england U21 game I think a while back. He still out from that ? (apologies for having a conversation with myself there Just thought i'd move things along )
He's played the full 90 in their last 2 games Rob. They're on the box in a couple of weeks too so should be another chance to see him in action.
If there is so much as a microbe of truth to this, add it to the Reasons Sherwood Must Be Sacked portfolio.
If Pritchard is sold then somebody high up at the Academy/senior staff better be picking up their P45s too. Already annoyed that Luongo was sold before having a loan spell in a top half club in the league below at the minimum.
Add this to some baffling uses of the loan system, notably Mason to Lorient and Gomelt to Royal Antwerp reserves, plus not recalling Adam Smith sooner when it was clear he wasn't going to play at Derby.
Brazil won the game 2-1 and our young keeper played the whole game with our midfielder coming on after an hour. Surprised our official site has made no mention of this game and our players playing in this tournament.
I'm assuming that Pritchard's going to have his loan to Swindon cut short and move up a level with another loan, as he seems far too good for League 1. Selling him would be immensely stupid.
Madness to sell Pritchard, that won't happen. A loan to Bournemouth makes more sense. A step up from Swindon, he can't be that far from being given an opportunity in the full squad. We could use someone who knows how to take a free kick.
