    Like me, I bet everyone who reads the post screams ''L O Y A L T Y P A Y M E N T S !!!! '' It's unbelievable. Good that it's on national radio, publicising what twats they are, wonder if the FA were listening.

He said: “I’m certain we are allowed to fine them for their behaviour, but the question is whether they have done enough to be in breach of their contracts to terminate their contracts and pursue them for wilfully devaluing themselves. That is the question. “But the bottom line is, Didier Ndong has shown no interest in returning to the football club whatsoever – we don’t even know where he is.

The trouble with this is (might be) that such 'loyalty payments' may well be based on being 'at the club' for a certain length of time :emoticon-0112-wonde

In which case, if that part has been fulfilled any player might be legally entitled to one :emoticon-0101-sadsm

I'm hoping that my thinking is wrong :emoticon-0126-nerd:

The good thing to come out of this sorry mess is that once all the outstanding issues have been dealt with, while we have these owners at the club mistakes like these won't happen again.

Get them to do some night time training on Hendon beach and I can arrange for the loyalty payments to be not needed.:emoticon-0100-smile

    Club statement - Papy Djilobodji
Sunderland AFC has given notice under its contract with Papy Djilobodji. Djilobodji, who was under contract to SAFC until June 2020, indicated in June 2018 that he wished to leave the club.

In order to facilitate that desire, the club entered into a written agreement with the player allowing him to spend the month of July on voluntary unpaid leave.

When that period came to an end, the player was expected either to leave for a new club – having reached a deal satisfactory to himself and SAFC - or to return in shape to play professional football. Instead, he returned to Sunderland over a month later, in the first week of September, ignoring written requests for his return. On his return, he was subjected to the same fitness test that his fellow professionals had undertaken on their return. He comprehensively failed that test.

As a result, Sunderland AFC can confirm that it has accepted Papy Djilobodji’s repudiatory breaches of contract and notice of the same has been provided to the player.

I'm presuming that we'll be suing him, too, Vince, for him deliberately decreasing his value to S.A.F.C. so we may not lose out completely on his potential t.t. fee (on what we possibly could have received if he hadn't been a fecking twat/idiot) :emoticon-0105-wink:

I'm not sure what "the club has accepted Djilobugger's repudiatory breaches of contract and notice of the same has been provided to the player" means...?

It's very "legal mumbo jumbo" speak isn't it - have asked my solicitor friend if he has any idea - although he's a criminal law solicitor so might not get anywhere!!

I read is as he's been given written notice to leave the club in termination of his contract - but I have no idea if I'm right!!

Morally we have every right to sack and sue. I have a funny feeling that legally we may not, knowing how much power the players have nowadays.

The PFA have repeatedly jumped to the defence of players in the past when they treat clubs like **** - he's been very quiet in this instance!!

It’s surely a good sign that the PFA haven’t yet jumped in to threaten us. Unless they’re waiting until we’ve actioned our intentions

Good point. Still think some smarty pants lawyer will find a loophole which will plant us unfairly in the wrong.
