Then it will be interesting to see if either try to null their contracts after the loan window shuts.
Bri, my fear is if they wait until the loan window closes then report for duty at the AOL, we can only fine them two weeks wages initially then we have two Rodwell situations on our hands, two big wages to pay with no product.
If I was Stuart Donald and these two oxygen thieves were still at the club on the 1st September, I would be marching them down to the nearest court for breach of contract and to sue them both for their market value, signing on fees etc. Before kicking them both out of the door.
I can understand everyone's frustration with these 2 guys but this is hardly an usual situation. It happens all the time. Its an industrial problem. Every team in the land must experience this sooner or later. It seems to happen a lot in the PL and must happen in overseas leagues as well. My question is why doesn't the industry do something about it?
Is that even an option Bri? It would be great if we could, but if it is an option, why don't we do it now? I don't understand the complexities of contract law but I'd have thought that if SD was in a position to save a few quid he would take action as he's done everywhere else. The sooner these 2 twats go and the sooner Oviedo says he's staying the happier I'll be.
We sack them we still have to pay the instalments on their transfer fees from when they signed for us, but we a get no selling fee. Might by the most expensive way of getting rid ultimately. We could sue the players after but don't know if we'd win and it could take year and years to see a result. LIke I've been saying, without knowing the figures none of us are privy to, none of us know how best to approach it. Just got to trust the club to get it right.
I saw tonight on Sky some comments from a german football club opener. He was saying that he's getting calls everyday from PL agents about players before their window closes, about players not even under contract with the agent. It's these bastards that are the scourge of the game!
NEWS: Sunderland owner Stewart Donald offers further update on situation with Ndong & Djilobodji 1 Sunderland owner Stewart Donald was on national radio this morning to give an update on what is going on with Didier Ndong and Papy Djilobodji, offering further details after his appearance on the Roker Rapport Podcast at the weekend. Donald conceded that he has paid the last installment on the Ndong transfer fee to French club Lorient this morning, which was in excess of £3m. He admitted that he has now paid off both deals in full, with the final payment to Chelsea - another huge sum - for Djilobodji paid last month. He also added that whilst Papy Djilboodji did indeed report back to the Academy of Light after a 72 day exile, he hasn’t been seen since his initial meeting with them last week and that he said “you will never see me in Sunderland again” in his last direct conversation with the club. Donald also noted that when contract terminations were mooted with the representatives of both players, suggestions were made that loyalty payments and agent fees were due soon and that if something could be done there, a termination may be possible. The club are still taking legal advice on how to deal with both players, and this situation is sure to develop further over the coming days and weeks.
