Tell you what, if I hear the letters "PSR" after July 1st from this football club, I'm ****ing done.

 

It will still exist and it'll always be an issue unless something significant changes.

Personally I don't think we can catch the top clubs who will continue to grow themselves, but it's good where the club is and good to at least have the possibility.

 

I've made a diary note for July 2nd.

 

Hopefully the club will at least wait til August before blaming PSR again.

 

It's not a case of blaming psr it's the actual issue.

 

The "issue" of PSR has been here for longer than we've been owned by Saudi. Yes, there's been more speed-bumps thrown at us with ATP rules, but that doesn't change what we've needed to do and in offering players like Targett & Kelly £100k+ pw deals, we've been stupid. In paying £42m for Barnes, we've been stupid. In rejecting offers for Wilson, Trippier, Longstaff, Almiron and others in the past, we've been stupid. We need to stop being stupid and start acting smart so that we - like Brighton, Brentford, Forest, Bournemouth and many others - can navigate the PSR issues without ****ing moaning about them every, single window. Why do all the other aspirational clubs seem ok with it, and seem to find £15m players who can be either important players or sold for huge profits? Why do we saddle ourselves with the likes of Targett and Barnes who have zero sell on value yet are huge drains on our ability to be flexible?

As I say, I am tired of Howe talking about it. He is at least partly responsible for our problems and, thankfully, with someone at the club finally putting their foot down on a sale like Almiron we might see a change.

 

Barnes is the only error.. Everything has gone better than I anticipated. I never lost track of the pre prescribed 5 to 10 year plan.

We don't actually know if those bids came and for how much.. It probably wasn't worth the hassle.

Partly, what makes you think other Clubs are happy with the current system? Forest definitely aren’t happy with the practicalities of psr, that’s for certain.

I cannot find any mention of the word "happy". I think the word used was "ok" as relates to "navigate". We have inarguably failed to navigate PSR very well.

 

We've gone from 19th to 5th, bought the best striker in the world, been in the champions league and are heading towards a second major final in just 3 years.

This has been achieved without breaching PSR and without losing our best players.

This is just the start.

 

Still better than Forest, I would suggest.

 

And potentially on to CL next season as well.

 

We boost our commercial income by qualifying for the Champions League.

We start a new PSR cycle in the summer. We will have money to spend allowing us to bring in 2 or 3 high quality additions. Push and and consistently finish top 4 we increase our commercial income.

Stadium and training ground sponsorship is next.

 

Possibly, but there's another reason to wait until the summer before spending cash that ties you down for years.

 

I keep hearing needy people wanting someone to write them love letters everyday of something..
