Pompey's manager Guy Whittingham has been reported as saying the following about new players he might sign:

‘They don’t even have to play well. If they run around and work their socks off they will be backed here and that is something we can offer them – and to be part of a rebuilding process that hopefully get this club back up the league.’

I don't know who that insults the most, the players he signs or the fans.

Somehow with that recruitment policy I don't think we will be seeing much of Pompey any time soon.
 
Think they adopted this policy some years ago?
Still I hear Pompey ladies team are on the up and will soon be playing there games at Fratton Park, perhaps they could amalgamate both teams?
