Good news that things are progressing but i would say i don't like people referring to the locals as Nimbys etc. End of the day i wouldn't like a stadium next to my house either and they have the right to object to this sort of thing. The law is their to protect people and sometimes its abused by various parties, best example being Aston Vale. But you could also argue that the Aston vale stadium requires building work on green belt land and that's not supposed to happen either. Lucky for us the UWE site hasn't got any of those issue and i think it will go through but the only worry is the Sainsbury's application. That really depends on whether the locals want a stadium or a supermarket.
UWE Stadium recommended for approval: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-18804137 That's the easy bit - let's hope Bristol City Council will be as accommodating with the Sainsbury's application.
South Glocs council sit today, hopefully based on planning officers recommendation the approval will be a formality. Anyone got info regarding Sainsburys Mem development ?
Nope - as far as I'm aware it's still going through due process within the planning department of Bristol City Council. It's going to be an almighty battle, that's for sure.
I would have thought there would have been more cash generated if the Mem site was used solely for residential development rather than a supermarket.
**** off dog breath, I offered the others £5 whole pounds, just think what they could of done with that taken their Missus out for a fish supper. Never doubted that you would get this one, and to be honest with all you penis lickers. I don't think you will have too much trouble with the other one. Try being a bit more optimistic.
Let's hope so ROD mate, let's be fair, we have had to put up with some real **** over the years, and it's about time we had a little bit of happiness for once! Let's hope in a couple of years time both sides have a nice shiny new stadium to play in
did you manage to beat waterley bottom in the pre season friendly. we held massive evesham town away to a 0-0 draw, my we shall storm league 1 this season. i understand there is an application in to build towerblocks of flats on the mem., that should have the locals gagging for a sainsbury's. floreat salopia! oh hope you manage to beat pucklechurch in your other friendly!
