What do you guys think about your Chairman's plan to have a minutes silence out of respect for the late Mrs.Thatcher before the Liverpool game? Is it not a bit odd, given the Reds general assertion that she was complicit in the Hillsborough disaster cover up, the anniversary of which is next Monday. Bad timing or just madness, what do you think?
This is complete madness - and a PR disaster waiting to happen. Do the people of Berkshire (or the Reading Chairman) have no idea at all of how reviled, loathed, hated and despised that woman is, and always will be, in many areas outside of the south east of England? Silence? - from the Liverpool fans? You must be completely bonkers - they'll be blowing bugles and exploding party poppers (if they can smuggle them in the ground) whilst singing Ding Dong The Witch is Dead.
Nothing Madejski says or does comes as any surprise to Reading fans these days. The guy appears to be so far out of touch with the real world its frightening. Apparently there is a minutes silence already planned in honour of the Hillsborough victims, but since Madejski has come out with this hairbrained suggestion, I reckon any silence could now be disrupted, especially if any of the Liverpool fans thinks it might be in recognition of Thatcher. Please don't confuse anything Madejski says with the general views of Reading fans, or Berkshire people in general. It is his own idea which seems to have gone down like a lead balloon anyway.
