Got to say the Unions did more harm to Britains industry than Thatch could ever manage.
During my six years in Picky's every week we were either on strike or on a work to rule. And people wonder why the Yards closed...<laugh>

Whelan and Madejski are living in cloud cuckoo land if they think NE football fans will observe a minutes silence for Thatcher.

Wonder if the Scouse fans are in favour of it .................

Yeah definitely THIS. The unions buggered A&P up big time. Did 7 years and we were always on strike for nowt really. Carty and the mob used to like to look tough.

Do you remember when Thatch came for a visit ('83 or 84ish) The "hard" Stewards were all barracking her so she turned and walked towards them...They all bloody ran like scalded cats...
What trade were you Dan? I was a Shipwright under the "legendary" Hoppy...<laugh>

I was the one who she came and spoke to, proudly wearing my Sunderland scarf, still got the photo somewhere. I was a caulker burner, and my old man was a staging maker, same name as me so it will give you a clue who we were, Both DD
