Another great stat....From BBC Football Posted at 09:25 Premier League on Twitter: Chelsea's Petr Cech and Arsenal's Wojciech Szczesny share the Barclays Golden Glove for keeping them most clean sheets. 16 - Petr Cech (Chelsea), Wojciech Szczesny (Arsenal) 15 - Tim Howard (Everton) 14 - Hugo Lloris (Tottenham), Artur Boruc (Southampton)
did you hear the stat in the Villa game that Paulinho's goal was the only prem goal we scored in the opening 15mins all season? Shocking.
In the last fifteen we didn't go one nil up too often, it was always the other team which opened the scoring and we had to play catch up. It changed with the Fulham match and we went onto win three. Sadly West Ham were on a roll against us.
It seems a distant memory already, but it's only 8 days since it all ended. Looking forward to spending £250M and seeing some schhhhhhhhexy football next season
He has something about him, but how quickly he can revamp the team is the real question. He's the type of manager who should have been appointed 12 months ago - one of the few who isn't fazed at all by following SAF. That's the biggest hurdle for any new manager - and was too much for Moyes. He likes to play attacking football too so every reason for optimism as long as he can sign the players he wants - and that is a big "if" with no CL football to offer and no bottomless pit of money like some (FFP or no FFP).
It sounds as if, like us, you could well be going into the new season with not only a new manager, but half a new squad too. In which case, I wouldn't expect miracles next season. You may well make a better job of selecting the right manager and assimilating new squad members than we have done ( not exactly difficult!) but even so, it will take time for everything to settle down.
Well according to the BBC Rumour roundup page thingy..... Van Gaal has stated that only 4 Man Utd players are guarenteed their place next season. Obviously, it's him posting a challenge to the underperformers to pull their socks up and impress him but could be a busy summer ahead for Man Utd's cheque book. Rooney, RVP, De Gea and Mata maybe?
Even if it's RVP, Rooney, and two others, it's got to be said that none of the United squad covered themselves in glory this season. I think it's a dangerous message to send out to 30 squad players that only 4 are shoe-ins, when none of the ****ers should be shoe-ins. If anything, the likes of RVP and Rooney should be the ones getting their arses kicked, because they are the ones who ought to be setting the example to the rest of the squad, and they clearly are not.
Bloody hell, that is poor. We were 2-0 up against Man Utd and Arsenal in less than that time! Not that it did us any good at full time though
