    I knew that <whistle>

As for MFGs words of wisdom we must all bow down to...I see his man Downing contributed again and Suarez looked like the "natural" goalscorer he insists he is <ok>

Tough one though Shogun as I'd rathe see someone else win it. Plus I'm not sure we'll be anywhere near the EL spots anyway. Know what you mean though.

Whats the bets we have 769 passes complete, 78% of possession and 64 shots on Sunday and still lose 2-1 ?

  7. Well, you've lost me on that one. What's wrong with Yesil...? Or do you mean lack of striking options...? In which case, you sound like your being harsh on Yesil!

Mmm. Tricky. I like a good crossword, though.

    Hebetube?...
    Hemeralopia?...
    Habromania?...
    Hemianopsia?..
    Halieutics?...
    Hamartia?...
    Hesternopothia?...

Nope, I give up. Could be any of the above. Depends on your viewpoint, I guess. :bandit:

I don't think you'll ever see Joe Cole in a Liverpool shirt again, he was one of the senior pro's out there last night, with a chance to claim a first team squad place. He was invisible.

    This^.

Although I do seem to remember him winning us a corner with a wayward shot. Back in the England team soon, then, no doubt! Oy, Roy! :emoticon-0129-call:

I dont think any blame should go towards Yesil but the more experienced players were terrible.

Rodgers got this wrong and should have started with a stronger team.

Agree it wasn't Yesils fault he's only 18 and the fact we have to force him into first team action shows how weak our squad is. Again BR has to take his share of the blame for that. Yesils record shows he can score goals but every striker needs decent service and confidence and how many strikers will be confident playing in a team like last nights. Its just a shame he didn't give him a chance to play with SG and LS second half.

I would argue about the lack of fight. For the first time in a long while, this season has seen us come back from losing positions and fight back. Especially last season, we would concede a goal and pretty much go onto to lose the match.

Agreed re. lack of depth. Not sure why Rodgers would use Cole over Pacheco but if anything, it highlights the fact that Cole is simply not good enough and should be shipped out ASAP.

The central midfield was embarrassing. Allen had an off day, Cole was awful and Shelvey was non-existent. Contrary to what others believe, I have said that Shelvey is not ready for first team action. He's in an awkward place in that he is too good for the reserves but not ready for the first team. I suppose the lack of depth means we have to rely on him but I would rather see a midfield trio Allen, Sahin and Gerrard (Obviously, Shelvey was used as it was a COC match but it shows that other members of the team are ahead of him).

Overall - it was a poor match. Plain and simple - Swansea were good value for their victory and it should have been more. Not all doom and gloom - we had a team starting with Downing, Cole and Carragher and with Henderson as right back. It was a weakened team selection and the lack of cohesion was expected really.

EDIT: Another positive - Suarez scores again! However, when he is in the box, he wants to do everything himself. Either he is just greedy or he doesn't trust the players around him - you can sense his frustration when he passes to Shelvey only for him to lose it quickly.

No, you mustn't. But you will.

Do you judge every player by one game? Because everybody was raving about Suarez's goals last week. How many does he have to score before he is a natural goalscorer? Specifically, like, by your rule book?

As for Stewie, i've already made it clear he was a dead man walking and no matter what he does it won't be good enough. He scores the winner, he's still criticised so his confidence will not rise and he'll be gone.

Funny though, he has a bad game and he's my man yet we continue to be **** and everybody avoids any blame for their man, BR. it's like the media with Hodgson all over again.

  18. I realise this is a waste of time as you never respond but hey ho...

Do you not think a natural goalscorer is someone that looks like that going to score every time they get a chance? Someone that doesn't need to think about it, it just comes 'naturally'? IMO, a player that has seven, eight, nine, etc chances a game and scores maybe one of them, sometimes none is not a 'natural' goalscorer. If he was a natural goalscorer, then wouldn't most of his efforts be on target? If the keepers were saving most of his efforts then I'd possibly agree but they're not, Luis is missing the target most of the time! You mention him scoring at the weekend, wasn't the first an own goal? It would have gone out for a throwing had it not hit anyone!!!

IMO, your argument is based purely on whether Suarez is a goalscorer or not. I don't think anyone (yourself included) can claim for him to be a 'natural', that stats are to heavily stacked against him for this to be the case.

PS - why don't you give Rodgers a chance? Afterall, you said you can't judge a player on one game, can you judge a manager on just eighteen or so games?

Suarez has many talents, but he's not a natural goal scorer.

He's no Fowler, Owen, Rush or Torres.

You only have to look at Suarez goals to shots ratio to see that he's not a naturally finisher.

His ratio this season is 12%, so he scores with 12% of his efforts on goal - compared to Aguero for example, with a ratio of over 40%.
