Some clubs these days only sign players based on what the stats guys say. I can't remember the specific club, but they had a team of people stats guys who got the job because they were amazing at FM2020. They sit in on training and draw up stats and ratings for all the players and give them overalls, then the management know exactly what their lads are good and bad at and can select a team around those statistics. It's really interesting stuff, but I dunno how accurate the science is. I know this has little to do with the discussion but, interesting all the same.
You insinuated that was the case. In response to a comment about stats not being required to assess that Bentaleb and Shelvey were **** and not trying. You wrote "guess who uses stats Klopp". That suggests that Jurgen Klopp would have been unable to assess those two performances without stats. That's clearly incorrect.
I don't think there is a fuss over Bentelab but I do think he get's a lot of criticism unduly. He was clearly unfit when arriving in Jan (as mentioned above he'd been banished from Shalke) and then we've had a 3 month break between March and June, where hasn't been training. Added to that he has had limited playing time due to Jonjo and Hayden's form and only made fleeting appearances and probably not 100% match fit yet. In regards to last nights performance - he was starting in what was effectively our B squad and although he was just as awful as the rest of the team, his performance in particular was magnified due to the final goal where he gave away possession far to easily for Sterling's 5th after a slack performance - again I don't think that's a accusation you couldn't make at any of the starting 11. Agree with the above that if we get a takeover he's a non issue as he won't be here next year but equally he's here as 4th choice behind Longstaff and the other two so I don't really know what people expect of him. If we don't get a takeover I don't think he is a bad option in reserve to what we have.

I think you'd very much have to be set up to do that. Brentford are the only ones I know that use it to anywhere near that extent.
Why write it then or respond to a comment about stat? Seems a strange comment to make out of context. Squirming Why are you going on about using stats? Nobody is arguing against that. You just don't need them to see Jonjo and Bentaleb weren't trying.

can you tell your mate he's right then and stop trying to claim your brain can calculate the correct pass completion rates of all 11 players with only your eyes .
