Albert has made a very valid point here, and one very well summed up by Nedders.

Yes we're all just wanting this season to be over and for us to do better from August. I've fallen out of love with Europe, but in the past years when we were in Europe, we never played as badly as this year.

The league table doesn't lie. We're close to being relegation fodder. I cannot look anywhere else than the management and owner we have for just not being ambitious or football knowledgeable enough to get the basics right. No strengthening in the summer has reaped what it sewed, big style. Spurs and Chelsea have played as many games but are still going for the top 3 - teams that we near enough matched last year (well in terms of league points).

For Pardew to happy to finish 4th bottom speaks volumes about his place he thinks a club with 50,000 fans paying in each week should be. His place for this club in the league must be told to him by Llambias as being fine.

I doubt that Pardew will ever get us to really achieve - and as for domestic cups, I'm starting to think that our club just isn't interested in going for them. The Brighton showing was a total insult, and for me, the low point of the season.

The only interest presently is our precarious position that is still not safe. Wigan will pick up possibly more points than us in the run-in. And if Villa somehow do the same, we could be knacked ...

Bloody hell. I was ok till I logged on here. The season's nearly over and I honestly think we will survive, though I'll still be nervous till/if we get a few more points.

I honestly feel that a lot of this is a reaction to everything from the Benfica game onwards. I'm not dismissing the fact that some people have been unhappy with things before that, but I think the extent of how bad we feel (as a group of fans) has a bit to do with going out of Europe and having our last thing to play for taken away, and a hell of a lot to do with losing the derby. We're not used to how bad that feels anymore.

It probably doesn't help that they are so buzzing down the road. They think they've found their Messiah and they are, rightly or wrongly, in party mood. In football things are never as good as they seem, nor as bad.

Stop trying to be so bloody sensible, we were enjoying our group therapy here! <laugh>

Ha! You're right. It was going to be mine - someone else will be better:emoticon-0116-evilg

I'll volunteer because I'm in rich vein of form, my 3-1 win forecast against Liverpool will prove it. If I'm wrong then I'll gladly invite you all to administer whatever punishment you see fit.

That's how deluded I am, which reminds me, whatever happened to the abundance of delusion we always had? That's where we are going wrong, as soon as the delusion stopped our season went tits up.

We'll definitely win our last 4 games.

F**k off. We'll win at least 5 of our last 4 games!

Right Baldy, here are my amended predictions following your deluded pep talk:

Newcastle 4-0 Liverpool
West Ham 1-7 Newcastle
QPR 0-11 Newcastle
Newcastle 6-5 Arsenal

That should restore balance to the Force. <ok>

That's the spirit lads, however I can't see West Ham or Arsenal scoring.

True, but I was thinking that:

> we'd let Carroll have a a few goes at goal to let him prove whether or not he's worthy of a summer bid of £1 - one of his efforts is a lucky deflection off Kevin Nolan's backside that wrong foots the keeper

> After cruising to a 5-0 lead vs Arsenal on the final day, with little to play for, Pards takes it down to a 5-a s-de team to make it worthwhile for the paying fans to see something more competitive. We tease Arsenal and allow them to draw level at 5-5 only for Willo to take on the whole Arsenal team in the final minute, dribbling past all 11 of them twice before nut-megging the ref with a back-heeled flick. Just for entertainment value. I might have called this one wrong mind.

Now that's just plain stupid.....<laugh>
