Yes it was - our badge is complete ****e, was what I meant to say. I just wish we could modernise it and bring it into the future, sort of a re-branding with some weird shapes on it but maybe stick to our traditional colours. Na, on second thoughts that would look even worse.
I have a feeling that the picture you have was the original. I'm pretty sure this logo came out during our Great Escape season and it was unveiled on the front of a match-day program. I'm certain I had that program with me the night before a league game at Orient in March 1999, so that would mean it's likely the program would have been the game against Mansfield on 6th March 1999 (mine are currently boxed up in the loft, so I'm not going digging for it right now) The later 'improved' version had white and red bits added to the tiger to 'soften' the image. In fact when it's cold I still wear an old hat with that logo. I've always been convinced that when someone realises what I'm wearing, I'd be beaten to within an inch of my life - however it's only ever been commented on once
Just ROFLed so much, my carpet broke. I'm sending you a bill for $200 to get it repaired. Cheers. It wouldn't look worse, but our badge is certainly nothing special. At the end of the day, yours is a tiger's head with your club name and nickname plastered across it. Reminds me of a 21st century version of Barnsley's cringeworthy "Toby the Tyke" insignia.
I agree with him. It's very simple without being boring, doesn't have all the wavy nonsense you see in the 'coat of arms' ones and doesn't look like an upturned woodlouse like yours does Seriously though, why did your club change from the plain old White Rose to the bizarre thing you have now? I think even if I didn't despise Leeds, or in fact if I was a Leeds fan I'd still think that badge just screams pure evil.
please log in to view this image [/IMG] My effort - cruelly dubbed the Sid James Tiger by some on here, but I like it.
I like our badge as it is, but if we change it, I'd leave the tiger as it is, and have Hull City AFC arching over the top and 1904 underneath.
I really like the three crowns badge we had originally, I wish we still used that(1935-36 kit)... http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Hull_City/Hull_City.htm
Yeah, but it has no cultural or aesthetic appeal whatsoever. It's a tiger's two-tone head which could have been made on MS Paint, with the club name and nickname stuck on in Impact. It's **** all special. Like OLM says, the most effective badge out of your backlog is the three crowns. To make it more modern and European-looking. I don't mind the odd badge switch, but I think our current one is pretty average and I'd like to see it changed at some point soon if we ever get some ambition.
You'd have people whinging about being too similar to the Rugby lot. Sad i know, but it probably would happen.
Probably, but our original version was much better than either of the current rugby versions and I actually think it would be quite good for the three Hull clubs to all use it.
I've always thought it looked like Jim. But you had to be on drugs to come up with that crap design image. If anyone tried to interfere with our old badge I would hunt them down like a demented Tiger. They might die very slowly.
I hope that no Leeds fans take offence at jokes about their badge, it's cruel, to mock those who are burdened with having to wear such ****e.
OLM, I totally agree, when all Hull clubs are under the same structure (next season). Each club should have the three crowns in their own colours. Forget the Tiger on the shirt, let's keep it all simple.
**** all wrong with our tiger leave it as it is. Like the idea of the 1904 underneath though in place of "THE TIGERS".
