My phone is going crazy with texts, and my son has just told me thes awful bloody news - i am in shock and cant believe it !
Finding it very hard to accept right now.

Thank you Nigel Adkins - you have been truely magnificent for this club and will always have a place close to real Saints fans hearts. There is only one Nigel Adkins !

I would just like to say i am absolutely fuming at the decision to sack adkins, I beleive he is the best english manager in the game. To take us from the league one relagtion zone to 15th in the premier league is quite a feat and one I will always be grateful to nigel for. I dont care how good mauricio pochettino is, and yes he may do well for us but he will never live up to our nigel. A ridiculous decision on the back of some good form and an improvement in the team. The reason we were able to come back against chelsea on wednesday is because of nigel adkins, tactics spot on and most of all because the players loved him, his man management and motivational skills are second to none. Whichever club nigel ends up at they have got themselves a great manager and he will do well for them. From every southampton fan thank you nigel and you will always be welcome at st marys.

Gutted, angry, disppointed and most of all EMBARASSED! Others will quite rightly criticise the club and I understand that. The problem is WE did not want this but this evidently won't change others opinions. THANK YOU NIGEL although thank you doesn't sound enough. My son is six and understands where the club has come from and he got Nigel in his MATCH cards the other day. You should have seen his face. Adkins is his hero (and mine) AND WILL ALWAYS BE!!

 

Nigel is now the 1/10 favourite for the Blackpool job.....wish you all the best Nigel....gutted
