Define struggling. Played three and in this order ... lost 1 nil; drew 1-1; won 4 nil away from home .... fired! Hardly struggling. I realise he wanted the play-offs the previous year, but I believe it was the lack of shared vision that get Pardew the sack.
Agree with this 100%. Pardew wasn't sacked because of results it was down to vision or if you believe the gossip unfortunate taste in women!
so 3 games into his second season nc realised pardew's "vision" was different. Sounds like an excuse to get rid of him for poor performance.
Guys take off the rose tinted glasses, NC is a business man who wants results when he doesn't get results he makes tough decisions. And he might even create an excuse for the public to justify this decision.
thats fair enough just saying its obvious to me that pardew was sacked because of results nothing to do with vision, if that was the case he would never of been employed or would of been sacked earlier. i go so far to say that he only kept his job for the start of the following season 1. because of jpt success and 2. cause liebherr was alive.
If it wasn't vison then he was sacked because of his misdemeanour's which if rumours are to be believed also happened at Charlton and West Ham. A good friend of mine is related toa Charlton Board member and it certainly happened there!
Maybe. My info came from the horses mouth. Now I'm not so naive as to realise that Mr Cortese would necessarily tell me the truth, or mayb bend it a little, yet he said it was for the unshared vision.
He was sacked for not buying into his vision. That was very obvious to all when he had been touring the casinos with Ashley for weeks and I would guess that information got back to Nicola. And that is FACT. A few months later he as at Ashley's club. No coincidence and Nicola doesn't suffer dishonesty.
To be fair buddy nobody has them on I don't think. Some have a different view to you and some just think he should go. I am of the opinion that Cortese is a businessman. That is why I think he will see it through with NA for now. Certainly, as in one way it would be seen as a bad decision to have got rid of Pardew a man with so much experience including through all the leagues. For one that only has a couple of leagues experience including a relegation, but non in the top flight. Cortese would lose face...... lets face it......!!! (sorry about the pun)
Actually Pards turned up one time to many at the training ground with his drinking partner stinking of booze.
Make no bones about it football management is a result driven business. I really hope Nigel turns it round but mark my words if results do not change within the next few games he will be gone. That's how it works and Cortese will act now rather than later, he will not wait till Christmas. From a personal point of view I hope NA can turn it round because he has been brilliant for us. Whether or not NA is responsible for our summer transfer policy and a sudden change of team formation I don't know?? But ultimately he will be the one losing his job over it, if he is responsible so be it, if not it will be a tragic loss for SFC
Many keep on harping on about 'Cortese will look silly after saying we would never get relegated while he is in charge' Won't he look as silly changing his manager again after his 'stability statements'? Anyone can select choice statements to suit their argument on this subject but the above are 2 statements that he has made and this decision COULD but hopefully won't mean one of them contradicts what he has said. So if we go down or look like we will go down should he look silly for championing stability whilst employing his 3rd manager in 4 years or should he look silly for sticking with the stability and putting his faith in that stability statement?
