It would seem that owners without the financial clout to "gift" the kind of cash injections that Chelsea and Man City enjoy are all ****s in your eyes. Apart from a few super rich who see their acquisition as a chance to play Football Manager in the real world, most owners are there to make the most of a financial opportunity.
No, we were asked a simple question "Name me one chairman, other than the Chelsea red, who has given his money to his club....I can Dr Allam at Hull City....Live with it!!" and I pointed out Mike Ashley had done the same as Assem Allam and charged no interest on his loans. I think that's fairly simple to understand. In premier League football a chairman keeping a club afloat with their own money isn't that uncommon. What is uncommon are clubs that are self-sufficient.
If you believe the wages and fees are what you are reading in the press, then you are an idiot. Shane Long would have been camping outside the KC on January 1st with West Broms blessing had that being the case.
when AA karks it and we get stung by inheritance tax, then what? we will get stung with a 40% tax bill, unless AA has retained his Egyptian nationality. well he is 75.. cant live forever.
Do you mean the fees and wages Stevebruce (I was trying to get the Allam pronunciation effect there) confirmed himself? What fees and wages did we pay then mark? Eh? Come on spit it out.
As it stands, with tax benefits to his other companies, fees, charges and interest, he's taking his gift back at about £10mill a year and still owns the original assets.
WTF? I responded to a factually wrong post in which AA was praised for 'paying up' for Steve Bruce. SB himself says :- “He offered me a contract (in the summer of 2012) – which I think (was the equivalent to what) I was earning in 1988." End of chat.
Mr Allam hasn't given his money, but didn't Coates at Stoke and I believe Abramovich, a couple of others convert their loan to shares, effectively writing off the debts?
More often than not, it is the selling club who insists that the fee is undisclosed as they are not getting the best deal that their fans would have hoped for. Do you think Allam would be shy of boasting how much "extra investment" he has put into the club? He is content for the rumour figures to be out there because it helps his position.
The money is a red herring, I don't know about you, but I'm not for sale at any price. I appreciate where the club is and how it got there, but that club is Hull City AFC, drop the petulant cry for a name change and we can all move one. As my gift to Mr Allam, I'll even forgive him the abusive disrespectful comments he's made about me, my family and my friends.
My point was in response to the posts you are making across multiple threads that we have nothing to thank Allam for because he has done nothing for the club.
I don't get the "what have you put in to the club" argument. It's surely completely situational, if I had a personal wealth of over £200m and had put nothing in to the club then you have every right to ask me that question if I whinge about Allam's loans. However, I do not. Does this make any opinions I may have null and void? Because it's impossible for me to put in any real substantial money? Come on. Think about it.
Should the worst happen, and we get relegated... the fees for Long and Jelevic will more likely be around the £4M point each. Both of which would still command that value in the market place. On top of that, they are likely to have relegation and survival clauses that will either decrease or increase their wages from the basic agreed depending on the outcome.
