He's the best and a couple of bad results doesn't change that. Anyone else in this country is a massive downgrade.
is the OP really a blue? Sack JM? you won the title and the league cup last season ffs the OP takes fickleness to new depths
We're Doooomed. Sack the tea lady, sack the burger bar assistant, hoist the mainsail, baricade the training ground, ban the media, secretly watch man city games wearing their shirt, Thwap any dissenters, give Eva a cuddle.....HEY I SAID JUST A CUDDLE, don't panic, run around like a headless chicken.
What would I have done? Well for a start I would have ensured proper back up players were at the club, ready and able to play as necessary. Whose fault is it that no back ups were bought? Whose fault is it that none of our juniors have enough experience to fill in because they never play? Whose fault is it that our team has played like a bunch of drunks all season and the last quarter of last season? Whose fault is it that half the team are out of form? Whose fault is it that no top players want to come here anymore? Whose fault is it that our selections and tactics are NEVER changed despite the opposition ? Whose fault is it that our players cannot be motivated after 5 lousy games in a row? If its not the managers responsibility to fix misfiring teams then whose is it? Blind acceptance of a manager is as dumb as a managers reliance on the same players for far too long. The point of forums like this is to call things as you see them. Thats not negative, its pragmatic. And I am far from happy to see us fail. Our squad has not been managed properly full stop. Something is very wrong at our Club, and Jose is right in the thick of the problem. He deserves all the criticism he is currently getting from everyone who is criticising him, including me. When he starts to do his job properly again, he will get the praise he deserves.
I do hope we keep him, your next manager will (not may) be him. But I don't see him staying with us, Looks like Jose has decided to leave.
Do you think its a coincidence they have gone **** after this Eva Carneiro thing, Jose has lost the dressing room
Just watched Jose's interview on MOTD. He had a moan about his computer not working! He's losing the plot.
He needs one of those Barclay's things for old timers who are baffled by technology. Or a copy of readers digest. That will sort his computer issues.
Did you notice he never looked at the interviewer or the camera all through the interview? The stupid smirk on his face looked like it was meant for someone
we had a world class Brazilian who left because he couldnt get in the team, so we invested in a 21 year old with one season's experience in bundesliga. is it jose's fault luis couldnt hack it? what wc lb is just waiting around to be signed so he can be on the bench? enlighten us. which junor is good enough to start? chalobah? who isnt getting a kick at napoli? what abut kennedy who came on and was **** yesterday? mcceachran? zouma? oh yeah thats right: he played 90 mins! (yet no fingers are pointed at him being in a defence that shipped 3). i'd love to meet this magical manager who makes spells of bad form vanish with a click of his fingers. same tactics from the same manager who played 3 formations in 90 minutes? which top player turned us down? tell us. Did we bid 100 mill for pogba? if we did clearly juve didnt accept, so pogba couldnt have turned us down. Stones handed in a transfer request. pedro chose us this summer so wtf are you on about? Over reliance on the team that finished first and won a trophy? yeah managers lost it mate. we're in bad run of form fair play. doesn't mean we have to act like arsenal fans and turn on our players and manager who put us in this great position in the first place. just fickle and plastic mate. demeans the whole fanbase.
What I found most interesting about Jose's post match interview is the way he just openly admitted that everything is going wrong. Usually when you lose you get a childish like interview blaming the referee, but this week there was none of that. The interview was so out of charecter from him that you would have to be very worried if your a Chelsea fan, as it was almost like the defeat didn't bother him as much as it normally would. It's like he's getting used to losing. This week could well be Mourinhos last at Chelsea, if you lose to Arsenal then I think that will be it for him. His old rival Arsene Wenger will be relishing the chance to cost him his job
Conversely, if Arsenal don't beat relegation-threatened Chelsea, it will put a massive dent in Wenger's form. He'll think to himself, "Merde! Even when ze Smug One has lost ze plot, still I cannot beat 'im! Truly, I must be a specialist in ze failure!" So, you can see the dilemma!
Ivan is not your biggest problem, I said before the season started you had no cover for Hazard and Matic, at this point they are out of form. when they get some legs back you will start to play again. It may be too late to challenge by then though.
Who picked Luis? We had a left back, Bertrand, who won a CL. Medal. We sold him. None of our juniors is ready ,as you say, BECAUSE the manager won't play them. Whose fault is that? Kennedy isnt one of our academy players, Mc Checran isnt a Chelsea player, Zouma isnt an Academy player. A very large part of a managers job is to motivate players. If he can't do that to the PL champions perhaps he should get some practice in. How is the team that finished first and won a trophy going now? Not too flash.Anyone could see by last seasons end we had a serious problem in mid field and defence. We signed Pedro. True we lost out on Stones, but Pogba has been quoted as saying he didn't want to come to Chelsea. I haven't seen anyone on here "turn on our players". What they have done is strongly question the Managers actions and motives for his increasingly bizzare behaviour which is definately detrimental to the team. Today it is reported that his "staff", the players wives and girlfriends, are extremly unhappy with his treatment of Dr Eva. Like Stan, I am of the opinion that Jose is waging a one man revolt against the Club for not giving him what he wants, and that is having a huge effect on morale.
It appears to happen only in football, that a manager gets the idea that, somehow, he owns the club and can dictate how things are done, to the detriment of any other consideration. Worse, if the manager has had some success in the previous season, because the over-inflation of the ego places in the mind of the manager that he is immune from criticism for eternity. In no other business would Mourhino's behaviour be treated with anything other than an immediate suspension, followed by a review and, probably in Mourhino's case, a dismissal.
This thread so evidently demonstrates the fickleness of modern football fans. I think Jose has the medals, reputation and love of the true Chelsea fans to be given more than a handful of games to turn it around; a mere 4 months after a league and cup double FFS. That's not to say everything is rosy. There are clearly internal issues (transfers and the Eva thing most likely). There is also the case of some players being badly out of form and us being a scalp for every other team in the league. We simply have no right to win the title every year, or even challenge for it. All teams have bad years now and then, maybe this is one of ours. United finished 7th a year ago having spent 20 odd years winning the title most years. It happens. Get a grip. Perhaps a bit more support for the players and staff and we can together try and turn things around. We've still got 3 cups and C.L spots to play for even if the title's gone.
