come on chaps, I think this is a bit unfair. at the time we all thought BArton and SWP were good signings. SWP, under Harry, might still prove to be effective. Even Barton made some valuable contributions at points. As for the Warnock sacking, i think at the time the majority of us thought it was harsh - any earlier and it would have been really, really harsh. Don't forget, this man had just got us promoted for to the top flight for the first time in 15 odd years. I agree the sacking was probably the correct decision ultimately but actually think the timing was probably about right. As for the signings - that's the managers call, not TF's. I wouldn't have quibbled over many of our 'pensioner' signings at the time because they were better than what we had. Why would Fernandes? He trusts his manager to make the correct footballing / transfer decisions. I still think the majority of our oldies can do a job for rangers if and when Harry gets the balance of the team right. As for the Hughes sacking, what was it, 13 games in? We'd showed plenty of promise in plenty of games to warrant a positive outlook on things. It was only after the Saints game that you could really see we were f*cked. He was, quite correctly, trying to stop our revolving door policy when it came to managers and instil some stability into the club. His main mistake was not being able to see into the future, and you can hardly blame him for that. (although he does spend too much time on Twatter)
Virtually everyone thought Barton was a bad idea and at least half didnt want SWP. I thought they waited too long to sack Warnock as they waited too long to sack Hughes. it was clear for many weeks what was happening.
All Flyer seems to want to do is sack Managers. I wonder if Harry doesn't win tomorrow will he be calling for his head too?
Every single manager Ive wanted sacked has gone within week of me making up my mind. No one has come back from the tipping point. Of course the less intelligent forum members would want us to stick with a manager all season even if we are winless.
So you only made up your mind about Hughes just before the Saints game? You were just berating TONY for not sacking him quick enough!!! (Can someone quote me so Flyer can see it?)
I said he should of gone first I clearly remember brefore anyone else dared to think of it, just ask anyone in Holland.
By the power that has been entrusted to me by the heavens and in the year of Our Lord 2012 in the presence of my wife and son Flanbaby I would like to quote Messrs Swords Hoopster that has stated the following about brother Flyer : - So you only made up your mind about Hughes just before the Saints game? You were just berating TONY for not sacking him quick enough!!! My solicitor will also counter sign this message once he receives it and will verify the identity of all parties involved by asking the said individuals for a copy of their passports and confirmation of address and photographic evidence of a QPR tattoo on whatever body part it lies.
You just have to look at the history on here, without checking, Id say 4-6 weeks before he was. I know that I wanted him before the Reading game as hed just waste winable points, and he did just that. Have a look at my posting history if you dont believe me.
Flanman, he's just contradicted himself on the very same page. In the first post he says he called for the Manager's head 1 week before the sacking but then he says it was 4-6 weeks. He's full of hot air that bloke.
