Why would City loan him to someone who is challenging for top four... be serious here people.

He's going abroad.

We are not direct competition to them, only Man U and Chelsea are. Unfortunately we are now in direct competition with Liverpool and Spurs for 4th. It's hard to say it but thats the way it is.

If memory serves me I think the loan deadline is the end of this month...... I could be wrong though and hey Mr Samurai, what's happened to your post Wenger saga? We're waiting for the next chapter pal ;)

Sadly some of your observations makes a lot of sense to me Mr 20K. I think it would be very shortsighted to imagine that our woes are behind us because you simply have to look at our team and realise that they aren't. Then there is the ongoing matter of continuous injuries which Arsene says is not the fault of the medics. Who or what then? The training regime perhaps? For all the above reasons, I agree that a loan deal would not be a bad for us. However it would probably be the end of the season before Arsene can make up his mind what he wants to do. And that in itself is another reason why we would struggle to get into the Top 4. I hope I'm wrong.

I can see us strengthening further in the Jan window if things go jugs up. We are in a very fragile situation and need as much stabilising as possible. I hope we show more insight this Jan window than in previous ones and get a couple signings in. The last time was when we brought Arshavin in, and he made an immediate impact. If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have made 4th.....

Does anyone here think getting 4th has made us complacent?

Yes but I view it as a secondary problem. The main issue stems from being happy to finish with european qualification and not winning anything, if we hadn't had that attitude then we would have a strong squad at all times. However because Wenger/someone important at board level was happy making the top 4 it allowed them to get complacent about our squad because we have always qualified for the top 4. Does that make any sense?

Oh yeah and I would say no to Tevez because I think him and RvP would not work together in footballing terms. Both like to play as a striker dropping back in to midfield and I don't think you can have two of them in the same team.

Makes a lot of sense. I tried wording a quick response when Mr 20K made his post but couldn't put it quite an eloquently as you.

Ahh OK. I'm not very positionally-aware ;)

Lets be realistic though guys.

We are 13th in the league and 9 points behind Manchester United. Any oppurtunity we get to add another world class player we should take.

Teves might be a disruptive influence but that never stopped us signing Gallas or Adebayor. (who knows wenger might be the right man to calm him down a bit). He's top quality regardless of temperament.

Not necessarily.

If his attitude is going to affect the other players, then I don't care how good the player is, he shouldn't be there.

That's exactly what happened with Gallas and Adebayor and we rightly let them go. The problem was getting a decent replacement for both and Wenger didn't do that.

As for being 13th and 9 pts behind United - we were never going to compete for the title anyway and we're only 6 games into the season. 32 games is still plenty of times to turn things around and get into the mix for the top four.

With both RVP and Tevez upfront we would get alot closer than we currently are.(we might even challenge)

Personally I'm a big fan of Tevez, he's a little fighter and the type of player that wins you games.

rumour has it is he is training with the shrews over the next 2 weeks, top of the league training and some manners could make a new man of him

Yes it does make sense. It's just a shame it has led us to this. Rather than getting bigger and better, we have stagnated and got worse because of it.

No, no, no, no, no, a million times NO.

I am not saying this purely because of the controversy yesterday, but because, and feel free to check my posting history, that he will only perform when he feels like it. When he doesn't get his way, he sulks and moans and won't perform. He would be a hindrance in our team's morale. Can anyone seriously say they want him with the way he's acted this Summer and even at United? It's no wonder Fergy sold him. I thought Adebayor was a prima donna, but Tevez just blows things out of proportion.

Don't get me wrong -- he has tremendous talent and he can be a phenomenal player -- but only when the team is revolving around him. He has a rubbish attitude and if the player isn't willing to at least try and put in 100% each game, without any arguments or pettiness, then there is no point in having him, even if it was just for a loan.

Tevez only performs when he has the lone central strikers role. And even then, he'd still moan for some reason or other.

He's earning top dollar at City, he was a great player for them last season, he's got the money to do whatever he wants. The world is basically his oyster at City. If he's still pissed off with how things have been City, then I can't see how he's going to be happy at Arsenal.

The sooner the Premier League gets rid of this player, the better. A tremendous talent, but lets his attitude overshadow his remarkable ability.

I disagree with you on this. One thing Wenger is proven in is dealing with difficult players. We all act like RVP was some saint, he was as difficult or worse than players like Ade, Gallas etc. and now he's doing just fine.

Tevez would fit into our formation like a treat. He would slot into the central position and RVP on the right with Gervinho on the left. He is stronger and more hard working than RVP. He could take a couple of defenders away and allow RVP more space and freedom at the right to cut in and blast one in. RVP has played in the right position for us and country and done a great job. Also playing in the center is more physically demanding which he can handle and RVP not so well. Tevez is a team man and would combine very well with his 2 partners.

Yup spot on.

Tevez would improve our team dramatically.

Also when RVP picks up an injury (which is pretty damn likely given his trackrecord) most arsenal fans will be lamenting the fact we only have one top class striker.
