'many' - you're welcome. Mine's a pint next time I'm down your way! Despite super's 'get real' comment, I have to disagree. I can only speak for myself, but having followed the national team for several decades, a 'Germany' or the like was never the draw. It was just to follow your country, whoever we were playing. I remember going to Old Trafford whilst the new Wembley was under construction to watch a tepid 0-0 with Macedonia. I still had a great time. Since the fat number 10 made abusive comments to camera and was then made captain, that changed. I just fell out of love with the team, not sure why I just did.
Ok, So if we had reached the semi final's, final or won it, the same amount of people would have turned up for this game against Norway? I know the answer to this as do you deep down. We are not a good team to watch, just have to face facts on that one. I have no doubt that had it been the "auld enemy" we may have filled Wembley but frankly it would be papering over the cracks of a very poor national side as proved for the last 15+ years. We have been waiting for years for our Spain or Germany moment but the fact is that our players are not fit to share the showers or clean the boots of the players from those teams as demonstrated for years at international levels.
