Perhaps a little misleading though we all of course know what he was banned for. Point being is that he was banned for a football related incident just like Terry as opposed to off the field misdemeanours like some of the other England players.
Just as misleading to claim JT is a racist when he was punished for making a "racist remark" on the "balance of probability." Semantics! eh? Who'd have it?!
I go along with Watford R. My Dad swore every fourth or fifth word sometimes. He was a gentle soul with no malice in him. He swore at home, in the shops, in front of little kids, because he was a print worker. It was how and where he was brought up and lived, he himself was unoffensive and morally upright. His generation and geography made his language colourful. I believe JT is much the same. I told racist jokes at school when I was six years old, everyone did, I learned them from prime time television. I was sexist and misogynistic when I was at primary school. Polar Bears grew up at the top of the food chain, it makes you believe you are top of every social and moral chain too. Our subconscious controls all our automatic systems, breathing, heartbeat etc, and our brains and mouths when in stress. We do not process what we have learned and heard, we speak quick and pull out rubbish sometimes. People who know us know our character. Strangers don't and high profile public figure are in the main judged by strangers and that judgement is spread by strangers. The small group of people who know us well can not help to counter that. It seems to be fun to use someones apparent faults to score points off other fans. No one expects the person in question to hear or read what is said so they fire away with their comments. Remember though you too are judged by strangers on what little they hear and read from you.
