My comment on foreign intelligence services in Europe is based on years of knowledge and comments made by ex members of the intelligence community.
Spot on about Italy. You'll note I didn't include them.
As for what the advice is, one should remain vigilant, try to have an escape route planned out and always try to get away first or else hide if you can.
As far as bullets are concerned, your best (unarmed) defence is distance!
I have no doubt Col, that our intelligence services are second to none after years of fighting a war against the IRA, and have many methods at their disposal.
I do think our secret services don't particularly like sharing info and intelligence with their European counterparts.
After all it was only recently that a German secret service employee was in fact found to be an ISIS supporter/Mole and intended to blow up his own HQ.
Spot on again with the advice.....exactly as we are told at the airport....RUN, HIDE, CALL FOR HELP !!
