I started out on HDM and BBC606.

I do think it is sort of addictive. Strange really.
I posted on the HDM for years,Graeme(Scarborough Tiger) was a regular. There were some good posters on that site and we had some good debate, wonder if anyone else that posted on there, transferred over here?

I joined from BBC 606. I never was on HDM or City Independent or Facebook etc.

I started on HDM but left as there was some guy who was related or knew JImmy Lodge and acted as if he knew everything? I right annoying twat I seem to remember.

:emoticon-0102-bigsm Tony M....I remember him well!!! Suitedandbooted,Merlin,Alan Washington,Mel U,James Lodge?

I posted as 'Strummer'.

Mel U he was a right twat until he started posting on here as The Omega Man.

James Lodge was a fraud of a man. He claimed to be a Muslim, faked his own hospitalisation, said he said he was translating English football for Hungarian radio and was a total liar. In fact worse than that he was dangerous.
The only time I caught him out properly was when he said he had been to the Brighton match. He said his mate had flown him down from Scotland to Bournemouth and back in time for him to post on the site that night. What he didn’t know was that at that time every flight from Bournemouth was tracked as part of a noise reduction project and no flights had left the area that night heading north never mind Scotland.
He generally had an answer for everything that couldn’t be proved.
He also posted under different names that he used to back up his stories.
I was told that he was posting on here, but who knows...

I suppose that as part of my work involves private investigation, I sort of found out more about him than would be normally expected of posters to a newspaper.
I found his real name, his address, the SM web sites he posted on and even his adverts for a bride from Thailand, that included him saying he was a catholic.
I also reported him to the Police once or twice for grooming.

So, it’s almost 6 years to the day that I hesitantly plucked up the courage to post and join you lovely bunch of people, after lurking for some time. Something had happened during a City game which prompted me to post and join in. Have to say, you made me feel so welcome (well, most of you!)

Despite the odd bickering, I think the camaraderie & support for each other when needed is great, including myself, despite being a new poster some came to my defence when they felt appropriate early on. For me, I’ve felt quite humbled at times, such a diverse group of people & experiences, at how when needed the support for each other has been genuinely offered. The highlights, the MH thread, honesty & support, positive responses to various funding appeals, and last but not least, Filey T. He will never know how many people he supported. Who’d have thought all of this from a bunch of mainly blokes on a footie forum.

RIP Tickles RIP Filey Tiger

The group and the city stuff is great but I do think the off topic stuff is really good for local info, I like the music threads, book group and holiday threads and the occasional US election and brexit debates can be very good. Not too many scarfers and probably a healthy majority of proper long term city old heads, Toty's mob never run, not sure we can still run? Could maybe do with a few more young uns and some more city fanny added to the geriatric mix?

City fanny.... so yesteryear.
Instantly reminded me of flares and platform boots.
