If it is not important (and in reality it's not) why was this thread created? Come on DL, answer that one. Finishing above you lot only became an end in itself for me when this thread was started (or one of it's predecessors). Before that it was about how high we could finsh.
Only if we lose the CL Final will we care. When the thread was created nobody would have dreamt we'd be in the position we are now. The reality is winning CL basically means we have finished 4th and you 5th. There's still a long way to go and Bayern are favourites so that may not happen.
If we had not had our slightly fortunate CL run and Cup run I think everyone knows we would have overtaken Spuds. But we will take the Cup finals over finishing ahead of Sours
With ease. We've played more games than any other club in English Football (Top 4 Leagues) bar Birmingham City. It has taken its toll. I would take an FA Cup anyday over being the 3rd Loser in a competition though. Entering competitions is about winning them, which we can do and Spuds can't
Won't matter as you'll be playing in the Europa League next season as per Champions League is for the big boys
