You can count on it being enforced, they dont like English teams.

We make roughly the same as Arsenal. We only lost 7million last year if you minus all of the exceptional, youth development, HMRC etc costs.

    Problem? Dumbass!

You seriously need to start debating with facts if you are to be taken seriously on here.

For starters we earn only £1.5m less than Arsenal and this with a stadium only 2/3's as big. In terms of revenue generated via broadcasting and commercial revenue etc we earn more than Arsenal, the former obviously being due to the fact we do better than Arsenal across all competitions on a consistent basis. The windfall we will get from the CL and the rewards that come with it could most likely mean we usurp Arsenal when the next figures are released in January 2013. Until then there is no point in speculating what can and will happen.

The facts are that although of our wage bill (according to the BBC which I will take as a credible source) has increased any contracts before Oct 2010 can be written off.

That can account for the contracts of Lampard, Terry, Drogba, Bosingwa, Ashley Cole etc. So already there you are looking at £40m coming off from the top earners alone. Our wage bill will decrease once all of the old guard have left in 2014. It's pretty clear that youth at the club are going to play a bigger role. Piazon, Kakuta and Feruz will most likely break into the first team and won't be on a fraction of what our top earners were on initially.

The fact is, every figure we've seen published by the club and every statement/contract made suggests we will qualify for FFP and even if we don't as Watford and Redbrynner have said you are nieve if you think it will be rigorously enforced.

Barca and Real wouldn't qualify nor would Inter. Milan got rid of all their high earners/veterans this summer as they are in danger of not qualifying too. Barca and Real as well as other elite European clubs are more powerful than UEFA. If enough top clubs don't qualify they might just decide to form a league of their own with their own rules ( super league).

Bear in mind that Barca and Real are the most supported teams in world football. Chelsea easily in the top 10 (possibly even 5th behind Bayern, Real, Barca and United). If they were to pull out then the viewers will follow suit and it would lead to UEFA's oldest and most prestigious competition having zero value. Do you really think they will take that risk? It would be like waving a red rag in front of a bull if they start excluding teams I.e rigorously enforcing rules. UEFA may not care if they lose the English clubs but they'll start to care if they lose the The likes of Milan, Inter, Juventus, Real and Barca

Its naive to think it wont be.

Put it this way, without FFP or a similar sort of enforced rule there wont be any football in 10 years. FFP is saving the game, it may hurt some clubs but Uefa have given ample time to get their house in order.

When its full implemented, any team who break the rules will be punished, I have no doubt about it.

I suspect people dont know where the FFP rules come from......German clubs were the first to demand something was done to stop Chelsea, Real Madrid and other teams ruining the game. This wasnt Uefas idea, this was footballs idea.

Dont worry about Real Madrid and Barcelona, lets just say things are going to get very very difficult in the next 5 years for those 2 clubs. Theres a chance they may never be the same again. Spannish people are getting angry, especially at Real who are subsidised by the spanish government in a time when spain is on its arse. Protests are already happening at games. The same is happening in italy aswell but for different reasons. Teams being forced to strip down as they dont deserve to wear the shirt.

The bubble is a breaking point, if you cant support yourself then you are in serious trouble. Chelsea can just about support themselves. City cant. City will die!

Erm.....Man Utd dwarf Real, Barcelona and Bayerns fanbases. Even if we take the figure in the article as bullshit its still over 300million worldwide. About double what everyone else can offer.

You are deluded if you think you have more fans than Barca or Real.

Do bear in mind that 70% of Spain alone supports those two teams. Barcelona and Real have considerably more fans than United

Erm.....no they dont, nowhere near. They have a large number of Latin followers who are funnily enough shared amongst Italian clubs aswell as the Brazilian and Mexican clubs.

United have a hold on asia, America, UK. Europe is generally split between localities. Ie most englishmen dont follow Real and most Spanish dont follow United etc. We tend to support our own countries clubs.

One way to look at it is the TV audiences each club gets. Not an accurate way but does give an insight. United have 1.15billion people watch there games. More than any movies ever released ( remember this is 60 times a year ), more than any musician has ever played to, more than some world cup finals and 100m Olympic finals. An insane number of people really. The report actually says households not people so the figure could be even more.

I dont have the figures for Real or Barcelona and I also know that the 70% of spain rubbish is exactly that, rubbish. The whole of Northern spain despise the 2 giants so thats a massive chunk. Ath.Madrid also have a large following in Spain. People may follow Madrid or Barcelona as a second team but having seconds teams is something kids do.

But if you think anyone, in any sport has more fans than United and it isnt a national team from a country bigger than the US then you are off your trolley my friend. United are the biggest supported sports team on earth, its not even up for debate, its accepted as fact across the world.

More to do with the current economy than anything else. More and more people are feeling the pinch and having to cut back on things. Season tickets being one of them for some people. We would still sell out games, just more tickets on general sale and more money for the club.

Didn't stop us filling OT for every game and being one of only two clubs in England to fill our stadium to 99% capacity on average. Better than Real, Barca, Bayern, Milan, Inter and pretty much everyone in Europe barring Arsenal, Dortmund and Schalke <ok>

The wage bill is not 191M, the figures you are looking at is the whole group which is a total of 18 companies. Some of these companies ARE football related, for example the merchandising limited which has a wage bill of 1.6m. Some of them have nothing to do with football and will NOT be included in FFP, for example the hotal company has 3M worth of salaries.

To do this you will need to go through each one and find out which are football related. Swiss ramble (Very reliable) did this and the wage bill was 168m.

    Such a moron..

You are fighting a losing battle with shwan Purley. He's not actually clever enough to understand these things. Twice now he has actually posted links to back up MY argument. Not the sharpest tool our shwan.

Yes, the results are very inaccurate to say the least. The Cl final only got 109m viewers in 2009. Man Utd vs Barca, yet you claim you have 300m fans in Asia alone. Something doesn't add up here pal.

For starters TV Viewing figures are no more accurate than the surveys as a source. Also even if they were accurate it hardly acts a fan count. Im mean what about people watching in groups, in pubs etc, would the african fans all have their own TVs and in Asia it would have been on at around 3 in the morning. Maybe a real fan would have woken up early but thats beyond the point, Since it proves that somewhere between 300 and 600 million people would indentify themselves as Manchester United fans. The most of any club.

The survey is from a trustworthy source so i see no reason to question it to heavily.

I don't think they should be considered fans if they aren't going to get up at four to watch a Champions' League final. Then again I don't think they should be considered fans if they are born on a different continent and will never see the team live.

Still, if they were on holiday in Japan on the day of a Millwall cup final they wouldn't wait for re-run at a more watchable hour.
