The vast majority of Portuguese can at least understand Spanish. Just like the Spanish say that Italian is really poor Spanish with a silly accent!!!
Lucas does speak spanish. It was actually Lucas that took Luis Suarez under his wing when he first arrived at Anfield. I thought it was Dirk Kuyt because Luis Suarez is fluent in Dutch. But it actually was Lucas.
