Agree - he had plenty time to save Saints the year he took us down. He signed 10 players, vast majority no good, including his own past-it, crocked son.

.....which reminds me, a few years ago, my son wanted a punchbag for xmas. I hung it up in the garage with a picture of Redknapp on it - what a thumping it got.

I don't like Redknapp, lets get that out of the way first.
I don't think he's as good as a lot of the other names being chucked around for the job, but, we need someone to come in & start the new job by making some big decisions. There is not a team ready for a tournament here, there are a lot of names & as many problems, its a bloody mine field when you consider there are players who can't even be in the same room anymore.
So we need someone who can make some harsh choices, choices that may well break some guys & make others. We need someone who will be able to get the best out of who gets picked, someone who can put an arm round a shoulder & get an extra 10%. We've tried the hard line Fabio way, it didn't work then, it most certainly will not work now with someone new just before the Euro's start, in truth half the players probably need to step aside & let some youngsters have a crack.
I know he's not everyone's cup of tea & I respect that, I just feel he would be a worthy risk at this disorganised stage. No big contract from the FA, the tournament is reward enough to the right person.
Time to throw the dice, time to start building for the future in September.

It is interesting to read some of the comments on here. Harry in my view is a cheque book manager nothing more nothing less. He is also a lucky manager.....He does not coach. I personally do not think he will make a good England manager..........JMO

Personally I cant stand the bloke and will be disappointed if he's england manager. Never even liked him when he was our manager. But if he can somehow get england to play to their potential then i guess it'd be worth having to see his bollock-chops on the tv (I'll just turn the sound down).

Spending big is a long standing tradition in football and most teams that reach the very top spend a lot to do it. The problem with Redknapp is that he refuses to accept that this is the method he uses, that he would rather be thought a bargain hunter punching above his weight on limited funds than be recognized as the hit-and-miss big spender that he is.

The most laughable story of this season was Redknapp having a go at Man City for buying their way to the top - if there is any one person in football who does not have any grounds to accuse others of buying success then its Harry Redknapp.

You have to be a good manager to attract someone like Van der Vaart from Real Madrid to Spurs - they weren't in the champions league then so that was a major coup. Before anyone says it will be wages - he won't be on anymore, probably less, than what he was on at Madrid.

Someone said he's just a lucky manager... Well I'd rather take a lucky manager over a good unlucky one. I just want to know if Joe Jordan will wear an England badge on his tracksuit!!!
