Brilliant! My Dad used to watch Teletext all Saturday afternoon to get our scores. You could have it overlaid on the tv programme. So you could have the tv programme and teletext showing at the same time. So my mother would be watching a cowboy film and he would have teletext over the top of it. Bizarre!

Midweek, my Mam would be watching the soaps and my Dad would be looking at the teletext bar. He kept getting into trouble for cheering or saying things like "ooooohhhh" when the goals came up :emoticon-0102-bigsm

did anyone book a holiday via teletext?
Worst holiday I've ever had, actually that's not true as we complained to the rep and got moved. However the first 2 days till we got moved were the most horrendous I've experienced abroad

When I was a nipper, and wasnt allowed to go away, me and my mates would have board game Saturday afternoons. Usually Risk! On the TV would be ceefax scores. We spent more time watching the scores and never finshed a game (did anyone finish Risk?) but it was a canny way to be with the lads.
