On a temporary basis until work picks up. Most likely period from May through August/September.

**** that. I've already bought 2 weeks unpaid leave and not taking anymore cuts in my salary.

I want to stay and do my chartership but its looking like there's not enough work in the pipeline so I'm seriously thinking about not coming back from Thailand in July and working with my Dad <ok>
 
hink ma mate got laid of from the Jarvis engineerin today who are already in administration and scott wilson engineers in glasgow laid off 30 people last week.

Is Jarvis with National Rail? I heard about that one. Didnt Scott Wilson were struggling though.

There's something else going on here, its blatantly obvious. I think this place is for the ****ter.

To be honest I wouldnt mind getting some redundancy in my sky rocket, pay my rent for the next 2 months while selling all my stuff and never coming back from Thailand.

Its the others that have got families and mortgages I'm worried about.
 
IN all honesty if i was in your shoes and wasnt tied down in the UK i'd **** off away from here, especially in your line of work

Have a few years in Oz or somewhere - you can probably finish any courses you need to do over there - get paid more money, have a better way of life and not have to put up with the bollocks we do in this place!

What have you got to lose? You'd probably come back more qualified than you left and hopefully by then things will have picked up again....or you might just like it away and stay there in the sunshine!

I'll be qualified in the summer, thats why I'm off to Thailand for a month. To celebrate by getting absolutely leathered and pump every single decent looking hooker in Kata.

I am really thinking about biting the bullet, I've got no ties at all apart from a big circle of fantastic mates who I'll miss. My motor is approaching 80,000 miles so will be as well pushed off a cliff in a years time so all I'd need to do is punt that and the rest of my gear.

go to Oz frank. get a job there apply for citizenship. go to thailand every summer.

He lives in Phuket cos its convenient, gets work in Oz, Malaysia and other places.

I was always having a talk with him about my career when over there, originally I'd set it up so I could work with him but was planning on letting him down to further myself and settle down here. Not much chance of that now since I'll be skint so think I'll see what he has planned for me.

See if I can get the ****s to sponsor me before the **** really hits the fan <ok>
