, Not at all, I've grew up with them to be fair, The first song I can remember was woman in chains, The story about that song is a woman is an abusive relationship, she's trying to get out of.
A man of exquisite taste. I would add Depeche Mode, Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, A Certain Ratio, De La Soul, Soul to Soul and others I can't currently remember to that cracking list. Tears for Fears were alright. I never owned an album of theirs, which tells its own story for me.
My music taste is ridiculously eclectic. I listen to everything from Abba, to the Bee Gees, to Marilyn Manson, to Eminem.
Likewise - although I do tend to favour guitar based bands with good vocalists ... in the 70s it was the Eagles for me - still arguably my all time favourite (also love Don Henley's solo stuff) - U2 in the 1980s before they became too glam - Simple Minds too ... also like The Killers and more recently Imagine Dragons who I saw live in 2015 as we went with my daughters (my then 10 year old's first concert) ... love 60s bands and music generally.
U2 used to open their concerts in the 80s with the Clannad theme track from "Robin - The Hooded Man" - best one was at Miltons Keynes Bowl longest day concert in 1985 ... it had pissed down all day long and the bowl was a sea of mud ... as that music started to play at they came on in the evening the steam coming up from the sodden crowd made it a very other worldly experience. Bono also went on to do a duet single with Enya - "In A Lifetime" ... which was pretty fine as I recall.
Yeah but you like Tears for Fears, so I'm not surprised I like a bit of country too, especially bluegrass. Gillian Welch is a great bluegrass artist.
I can't stand Bono, he does my swede in these days I like the early U2 stuff though, saw them live in Liverpool back in the day, before they became a stadium act.
