Now I know you are a lot cleverer than that Lenny and know full well my posts are not negative but ask some very valid questions. Just because an individual challenges thought or even people's previous explanations to situations, does not make it negative. It just means I do not and have never done, belonged to a happy clappy environment but give honest and open thoughts, hence why I belong on not606. I see someone accusing me of being negative as trying to silence me in my opinion. When the alternative to silencing me, would be to give me a constructive answer/opinion to the opposite. Last season we built a squad more than capable of League Two promotion and more than capable with the exception of a few changes of probably holding our own in League One (if we were to believe all us football pundits - or was that the club leading us up the garden path). Not my words but more or less the words of many supporters and echoes from the club, which I did NOT disagree with. I have clearly objected to recent sales of Rooney and Gazza and some sensibly say that it strengthens the club finances, which I CANNOT disagree with. However, a new manager comes in and as strange as it may come across gets my 100% backing but those supporters thoughts all seem to change direction, like the low pressures that have been battering the UK for most of the summer, when spend, spend, spend suddenly takes the thought process over, or is it because of Martin Allen's talk of 4/5 more signings (I probably blame the latter in my case). Yes, I recognise where all our weaknesses are and what areas need to be strengthened, so I suggest Hessy continues in his search to find us a few more Gazza's, one at left back and two down the wings for starters. I agree with post #20 - alwaysright is alwaysright and he understands - lol ps. may I now refer you to my new signature below this post vvvvvv
why spend money if we dont have to, that being said are there 5 players out there on a free that would significantly improve our team, given the posistions we are looking at. reliable center backs and goal scoring center forwards are very rare on free transfers as they are highly saught after commodities. therefore if we are to strenghten/improve the team (which is what allen is aiming to do) then we may have to splash some cash if we want to sign credible starters rather than finding gems on a free transfer. however i agree completely with the talk for the 5 signings - rb, lb, cb, rw/lw, striker. ideally with some players who can cover more than one of those positions in some way shape or form. hopefully with some pace and ideally someone who could be around for the next 3-5 seasons not a last blast before retirment from the football league
