Sigurdsson isn't a winger or even a wide player. The only position he's proven to be effective in is central attacking midfield.

True. Different wide players have different strengths.

You could say Bale and Lennon do their best work when they cut inside, although you're right to say they are pacey wingers in the way Podolski isn't.
