What's the farthest away we could go? Tom Tomsk of the Russian League is in Siberia but they're having a poor season, so it would be Kazakhstan or Israel since they're UEFA. Knowng our luck it would be a group with Icelandic, Maltese, Kazakh or Portugese teams, get dragged all over Europe.
if we lose the cup we go in qualifying stage and could play any ****ing team no ones heard of if we get in group who gives a ****
I'd love to get an Icelandic team. Always wanted to go there. Hopefully one of the volcanos could be emptying it's bowels when we went there.
I bet those teams are salivating at the thought of finally getting to go to Hull. I don't understand why anyone is moaning about this. If we get there, and its a pretty big if at the moment, we'll have 2 squads, similar to how we've done the FA cup this season. Bruce is not like any of this seasons Swansea managers. The club with him onboard will always target the league as a priority. That said, it would be a massive achievement for our club to play in that league, regardless of how we get there. Lets just look at the positives eh? Stop panicking and stop looking down your noses at places *you* have never heard of, I'd not be surprised if ALL of the those teams if we got through went *Hull? Where the fook is that?".
I would be extremely upset if Bruce didn't take it seriously, there's a champions league spot at the end of it. Not for turning noses up at. Also may well be our only time ever in European competition, I'd like to see us give it a good crack.
Irish tiger is wrong actually. Go in to qualifying round 3 - 2 legs Then the playoff stage - 2 legs Then group
I stand corrected, forgot about the PO stage! Better win the FA Cup then! The joys of another final in Warsaw next year!
Got his off the Chelsea board. Ok, went on to PL website and this is what it says. UEFA Europa League There are three places in the UEFA Europa League available: the FA Cup winners will enter at the Group Stage; (Hull or Goons - might enter at Group stage) the fifth place team in the Barclays Premier League will enter at the Play-Off stage; Again this is Goons - If they lose FA Cup, grab EL place with both hands the Football League Cup winners will enter at the Q3 stage. City can't do EL. Another place available In the event the FA Cup winners are qualified for the UEFA Champions League the FA Cup runners-up will qualify, but in the place reserved for the lowest ranking Barclays Premier League representative. The place with direct access to the Group Stage will be given to the club that finishes in the highest position in the Barclays Premier League of the clubs qualifying for the UEFA Europa League. English winners of the UEFA Europa League will enter at the Group Stage, gaining an extra domestic place only if they fail to qualify through other means for the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League. If the holders of the UEFA Europa League have already qualified for Europe, no extra domestic place will be gained. Should the FA Cup winners, runners-up (if applicable) So it could be HULL or goons the Football League Cup winners already have qualified for Europe, their place goes to the next best placed clubs in the Premier League. Fair Play winners enter at the Qualifying round 1 stage. This place will automatically go the three best-placed national associations in the UEFA Respect fair play rankings provided they achieve an average of 8.0 points or more. The top three associations will then be entitled to enter the club that has either won their domestic top-division fair play competition, or if they are already qualified, the runners-up and so forth. Please note that the above is purely a guide to the qualification procedure at present. From time to time other scenarios may occur which could mean that the above procedures may need to be reviewed. http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/f...lay-in-europe/
Though a jaunt to some unheard of backwater in Eastern Europe would be perfectly fine, I'd much prefer a trip over to Holland to play someone I'd heard of. It should be like holidays, we should be allowed to ring UEFA and say, 'we'd like to go to Holland, nothing lower than a 4* team and we'd like to go all-inclusive'.
Didn't we play some tournament in China and beat the local side in front of gazillions of their fans - tournament bombed out after that. PB has a lot to answer for still.
A team in deepest Kazakhstan fears the worst - "where the hell is Hull?" In Yorkshire. " Where the hell is Yorkshire?" Apparently it is in the north of England. "Allah wept - why do we end up going to the cold impoverished northern end of a mossy rock when a trip to Armenia to take on the local infidels would be so much more interesting."
Yeah away at the San Siro on a thurs night...followed by a sound hammering 2 or 3 days later in the prem cos were knackered..Swansea fans never want to qualify again!
Yeah, on your death bed you'll defo remember that mid-table finish rather than the trip to the Giuseppe Meazza to see City....
