You would think that wouldn't you. But no. Makes you think what a massive mess they are in to get immediately relegated after having a £55 million parachute payment. (55% of £99.9 million which they received in their final season in the prem from TV rights). To still be relegated from the championship with that kind of money available (obviously not available because of a high wage bill etc) makes you wonder how they can survive in league one with £40-45 million parachute payment. If they dont go straight back up then they will be in all sorts of problems and seriously in a high risk of falling into administration. Same thing as Southampton who ended up with a points deduction but still managed to get promoted in their 2nd season in league 1 following a huge financial backing.
Our new Chief scout should be of help next season with Coventry beating Exeter in the playoff final today
So we know who we are facing next season. Shrewsbury missed out on promotion yesterday after failing in the play off final. After a great season, they are stuck with us next season but now it has got worse for them. Their manager has been given permission to talk to Ipswich. Knock out blow for them. With their budget and could lose their manager who worked a miracle with them, I see them struggling next season, especially if bigger clubs take their better players in the summer too.
Felt a little sorry for The Shrews, they don't seem to have much luck in the play off finals and I think I am correct in saying they finished quite a few points ahead of the Millers over the 46 games which must make it even harder to swallow for their faithfull. Next season will be a challenge now for them, it nearly always tends to be tough for the losing play off finalists..........I wonder what of Tisdale ??
I think Tisdale would be a good manager for a lot of the lower league teams, may be he could get a break and manage a championship team
