That's Fulham for you. Wolves seemed to just shade the first half and the second half was embarrassing.

“You need to give Wolves credit, they got about us and didn’t let us play,” said Symons. “But the sending off changed it and you then have a different approach, a different game plan.
“Even then, we got in at half-time and said if we can keep it level for 15-20 minutes they’ll get frustrated. I felt confident we could still get something out of the game but then the first one was a deflection and in off the post. A mistake then from Lonners, who’d made some great saves in the first half, and you’re chasing."

I know we all have different opinions of tactics to use, but for me if you want to keep it level then Symons could have dropped Burn into the back 4 making a central back 3 with the 2 full backs helping out midfield as Wolves tried to stretch our weakened midfield. McCormack was the player to take off. McC seems to be Symons equivalent of Jols Berbatov in that they can't be subbed!!!

There weren't too many players who played well last night even before the sending off there was no spark and our midfield was non existent.

I have to agree that having gone down to 10 men, Ross McCormack should have been subbed so that a reshapped 10-man team would not have been caught out. Although the red card was bloody silly, especially during a strong Wolves spell.

    Fulhamish!

Still really, really annoyed that Kit did nothing to change the game with relevant subs but I'll leave it at my earlier rant. On the red card though. At the game I was too far away to be sure but having watched it on the (full game) replay a few times, I think Cairney was a bit unlucky; Le Fondre himself was already sliding in along the floor when Cairney got the ball and then him. A large dod of simulation by said Le Fondre didn't help. But .. it was two footed so rules and all that, mean you are correct GS, it was silly.

This got me thinking more about the ref. I honestly thought he let them away with a lot and gave some dodgy decisions (at least a couple of hand balls, for instance) against us. More importantly he made a decision as early as the 3rd minute which I believe was in itself a game changer. The ball was pushed wide left, Dembele out jumped the defender and as he turned to run onto the free ball was firstly held back and then tripped (I've watched this one a few times in the replay as well). The ref waived "play on". Not surprisingly the crowd gave him a bit of stick and my feeling is that subsequently he over-compensated in Wolves' favour; a sort of two fingers, sod you lot from the ref. I accept that's my blinkered view but it's what I said at the game, and before the sending off. Adding at the time, that I felt our players were low because of it.

I think this will be the story with Kit, big win one week, thumping the next. We need someone experienced to get consistency, think of us under Roy, we never won or lost big. It might be unfair to him and it's not going to happen but he needs to go if we are going to have a chance at going up. Big Sam would be my choice, we need to get the basics right and he is a good man to take us back to premier league standard.
