Also, good to see the young lads weren't hiding when it came to stepping up to take a penalty. Woodrow, Roberts and Stafylidis all stepped up.

Very pleased to score 5 out of 5 penalties (OK 6/6 with Ross). Does wonders for the confidence, especially after the short run of recent matches. Especially for Cauley after his brace+pen tonight.

    Roll on Reading on Saturday!

Well three goals and a lucky win - fantastic. It's messed my Notts Forest weekend completely but hey we're in the next round and on our way to Wembley.

Seriously though, good win, THREE goals and a better all round team performance (by all accounts) - I've perked up a bit now !!

23 shots, 7 on target, against another Championship side away from home. Was it the cup atmosphere, did Kit give them a kick up the backside, or is Hugo as a focal point really our problem? Whatever it was, that was an exciting improvement on the dross served up recently.

Always great to get a win especially in exciting circumstances like that but even more it sounds like we played quite well?? After four games with no goals and only four attempts on target the match stats from last night show we had 23 attempts with 7 on target! Would be great to hear from anyone who went!

Come on fellas, concentrate on survival? I think there needs to be an small injection of Fulhamish over the next couple of days! What's that all about?

    Personally I love the cup!

Anyway, great win, conditions looked terrible in the second half. Woodrow did well, pleased for him. Bit lucky with the pen but you make your own luck and I'll take anything like that.

I think we've got a chance of an upset against the Mackems! I'd love a win and progress through.

Well done to the boys! Really good job despite the conditions...

Surlyc might have a point there. Clear 4-3-3 and got our chances....

Interesting the Official Site has the formation as being a Christmas tree 4-3-2-1 with McCormack as the one up front.

Listenong to Gentleman Jim, he was more often at left back. And in an interview after the match with the local paper, Kit most definitely didn't reckon he was "up front" -

Fulham boss defends new role for £11m McCormack

Ross McCormack has switched to a deeper role for Fulham - and his manager insists that’s where last season’s leading Championship scorer is most dangerous

"Ross is more than capable playing behind two strikers,” said Symons. “He can play out wide, he’s very versatile. When he plays that role we don’t want him to come too deep. If he can get the ball in between their midfield and back four that’s when he’s most dangerous, and when he comes back from high into that pocket of space. When we changed our shape to a flatter four, (against Wolves) he went and played wide and showed what a talented footballer he is.”

Best since the Blackpool game according to the Club (and that was at home), and kind of belies the McCormack playing deep thing. But look at Bettinelli's stats - MOTM status:

"Overall, seven of our efforts found the target – the most we’ve had in a match since the 2-2 home draw with Blackpool at the start of November, although, of course, Tuesday’s fixture saw an additional 30 minutes of action compared to our league games. Two players were responsible for all of our on-target strikes, with Woodrow finding his range four times and Ross McCormack three.

Wanderers did actually manage more efforts on target (nine) but found Marcus Bettinelli in good form, with the Fulham stopper pulling off six saves."

Hope Marcus' form doesn't encourage Liverpool to come in for him!!
